Fantastic burgers, nice service

Quite a standard Ibis hotel. The location is fantastic, central but quiet. Plenty of dinner options nearby. My bathroom was not very clean, had some hair of previous inhabitants lying around.

Small, functional room in a friendly hotel (local rarity!). I have no problem with such a small room, but considering the size the it did seem a bit expensive (I did turn down an upgrade to a bigger room because it would have meant my toilet was in the corridor (not literally)).The location is handy if you are travelling from the Zuid station, as it is located in between the station and central Brussels

A massive sweet shop. 1 euro 49 cents seemed like quite a reasonable price for 100gI didn't have a sweet tooth but needed a pick me up and their branded energy drink seemed like it could fit the bill. Just 1 euro and without the sharp taste some energy drinks have (which I like...but some people may not).Hundreds of sweet choices, caffeine and a funny name? Has to be 4 stars.

Mamma Roma has a couple of restaurants in Brussels. In my opinion, these are *perfect for a lunch break - especially in summer*. I used to come here quite regularly when I was living in Brussels and working in the European Parliament. During lunch times it can get quite busy but everything is busy at this time - especially if you have opted for the crowded chips pavillon. I can always suggest to *take between 1 and 3 slices of different pizza*. You can have small or big ones since they are charged according to weight. Definitially try the buffalo mozarella ones - delicious! In summer, take the pizza away to one of the surrounding parks and sit down there. All in all a great place for lunch. *Four stars (only) because the staff is sometimes a bit unfriendly.*

*Looking for a good, Belgian meal? And not just chips? Then go to Le Cap! You can find all sorts of traditional Belgian meals here - try the chicken with potatos. Yummy!* You can also find various meat and fish dishes here. I have not tried all of them but the quality is generally really high! Don't be afraid of all the other restaurants in the street with the waiters outside, trying to get you inside. Come here directy and make sure you book if wanting to go on a weekend evening!

A big busy place with lots of drink options listed above the bar. I thought the XX bitter was pretty darn good.Commits the grave sin (in my eyes) of charging for the toilets. Even though I managed to duck the charge, this is always worth the removal of a star!

Frankly, this is a charming, well-designed hotel. To start with, it already offers the two main ingredients of a meaningful hotel room:
1. A reasonable bed.
2. Free wireless internet access in the room.
It is quite shocking how many hotels cannot even provide these basics. Having said that, in many details, it becomes manifest that the owners of this hotel intended to do something special, to have an additional idea, to have a bit nicer hotel. Specifically, the design of the hotel is spectacular - even if quite unusual and presumtable not to everybody's taste. My stay was a catastrophe nevertheness - my door key did not work, nor did the heating and I ended up giving an important business presentation with a heavy cold - but I would not take it too much against the hotel, as they made all efforts possible to fix it. I would come again.

this is a crowded station but unlike Midi/Zuid it has atmosphere and charme, and is actually very conveniently located in downtonw Bruxelles. I avoid Midi and take Central whenever possible.
