Expensive of course but convenient junk food when you are waiting for someone to arrive. Burger and Chips and a beer in the sunshine on the terrace cant be bad :)

Good Spanish wine, nothing else. That's the motto of this bar and shop specialized in all sorts of wine from Spain. On entering, the bar tender invites you to a mini tasting of a selection of red and white wines between 6 and 12 chf. Once you have made your choice you take a stool and sit down at the big table in the center of the single-room établissement. Scores of bottles in dim light fill the walls create a simple and elegant atmosphere. In addition to the great wine, you can chose from a menu of fine tapas (i strongly recommend the olives). It is not the cheapest place in geneva but it is certainly worth to spend a few more Franks here from time to time and dedicate an evening to the pleasure of enjoying wine.
They also organize concerts, flamenco evenings and even invite djs. The schedule is unfortunately not on the website.

A unique restaurant! The setting is awesome: a small and lovely house close to the Lake, in front of the monument brunswick, and set apart from all the trafic in a small park. The food is expensive but of great quality. They offer a limited range of small tapas-like dishes and wines which are all delicious. A great place to go for a rendez-vous! Pretty crowded on weekends and in summer so better book a table in advance!

Nice eatery with a large terrace in one of the nicest areas of geneva. The péruvien food is cooked with fresh ingredients, the service is nice and the dishes are huge. Prices are reasonable (rare for geneva!)

Very good food, nice service and nice place overall. I had the 'Le foie gras de canard' and the 'Thon à la plancha mi-cuit, pommade et barigoule d'artichauts au parfum de chorizo'. Very good quality for the money.

This could be one of my favorite places in Geneva, but sadly there is a lot missing to it...The Yvette is housed in a nice back street, has an appealing interior and a pretty nice terrasse. They offer tapas and wine and are well located in one of the nicest parts of Geneva, Eaux-Vives. All of this sure smells like a lot of potential for a great bar and eatery, but there are two major drawbacks: The service sucks and the food is not good.
I went there several times and it was always the same: You wait ages until one of the two waiters/bar tenders comes to your table (note: the place is not really large). Once arrived, you have to ask him for the menu because he forgot to bring it to your table. So you wait again a while until he returns with the menu. Throughout the evening, it is not easy to catch the waiter's attention to ask for more wine or something else because he likes to hide behind the bar and pretend that he is on vacation.
You order, and then they bring you a tiny plate of what they call tapas. I didnt find the dishes tasty nor nicely presented. The portions are very small in relation to the prices and as a tapas bar, the range of tapas that you can choose from is fairly small.
Apart from the nice atmosphere, I could only name the good wine that they offer as the only positive thing that comes to my mind.
All in all, great potential but not a place that left a great impression on me to make me return there.

The Novotel is situated close to the train station and easy walk to the lake front. With the free public transport pass it makes for a very good base to explore all parts of Geneva. The hotel is comfortable, reasonably well specified and the gym, sauna and spa facilities are great to unwind after a day exploring the city. The breakfast buffet was very good - it's not often that buffet scrambled eggs are decent fluffy and creamy, but they were here. We got a pretty good deal so price was pretty avaerage for a city centre hotel with good amenities.

This is a small and cosy place. Just 20 or so seats and the kitchen is on full view. But the welcome is warm, very friendly and accommodating of my very basic French to guide us through. We ordered 3 main dishes but were recommended to cut back to 2. Again great service and absolutely spot on. Sorry we cannot recall names of dishes. But starters and both mains were excellent - a light aromatic tasty. And as I say we left with full bellies. This place is a bargain as well, and not just by Geneva price standards.

So happy we found this place - first night in so a little tired and hungry and nearly gave up. We arrived and it was empty making me suspicious the reviews might have been suspect. But within 30 minutes it was busy and by the time we left it was full.
The food was excellent. Just some simple focaccia to start but it was light and crisp and came with excellent quality olive oil and balsamic. My wife had a Neopolitan Pizza which again was crisp and light with a lovely topping. My Tagliolini alla Calabrese was tasty and cooked perfectly.
Pricing is relative - Geneva is amogst the most expensive cities we've ever visited. But for the region, this was excellent food and well priced. Would return if we ever go back - looking forward to it in fact.
