El Luchador - Zürich
Konradstrasse 69
8005 Zürich
Just went to El Luchador for lunch yesterday, loved it! Absolutely not tex-mex or anything like it, so you may be in for a surprise depending on your expectations. Preparation is simple, authentic, spicy, with little to no sauce or cheese. I had the Pozole (spicy chicken and hominy soup) and the Tacos Al Pastor, simple grilled marinated pork in two soft steamed corn tortillas, served with a wedge of lime and assorted salsas. The Pozole was rich and warm, with lots of tender chicken and hominy. Will definitely clear your head  The Al Pastor was perfectly marinated and charred, together with lime and a good dollop of salsa fresca, made for a delicious lunch.Small place, so get there early if you are going for lunch. I loved it so much I'm going back again today! (Jeremy Hulette, 24-05-2012)

Linde - Kyburg
Dorfstrasse 6
8314 Kyburg
Went there with customers and it was pretty good. Atmosphere is great, you can visit the castle before dinner and they have a very cosy but chic interior. Service and welcome was very friendly, even though the service frequency was quite irregular. They would come twice within 5 minutes to refill your glass but then don't look at you for half an hour later... The quality of food is just not high enough to give 5 stars and prices are too high. They present themselves as gourmet restaurant and you pay as much as in one, but from the length of the menu (pages of different meats, starters, fish, etc.) and the preparation of food (quite heavy) you get rather the impression of a typical gasthaus, which is not bad, but too expensive. But altogether a recommendation. (headspacer, 24-05-2012)

Cafe Henrici - Zürich
Niederdorfstrasse 1
8001 Zürich
Henrici practices coffee as craft, with the proper latte pour you'd be familiar with from Portland, Seattle, San Francisco, etc. I just recently found them, and was so excited when I saw the latte they brought to me. No push-button instant shot machines, they pull each shot from quality espresso steam machines. Perfect crema art, milk properly stretched to give that velvety texture that makes for wonderful milk coffees, and the espresso was delicious, completely skipping the over roasted burn flavor that seems so common (looking at you $tarbuck$). I believe one of the owners actually worked in San Francisco coffee houses for a few years, and wanted to bring the culture back to Switzerland. They recently started serving single-origin pour-over coffees, which I'm really looking forward to trying. I hope they are really successful, and open another location, or inspire others to do so. Nagasui - Zürich
Selnaustrasse 16
8001 Zürich
We go to this establishment quite often. The location is lovely in the summer & great for those with kids who'd like to run around. The staff are all extremely friendly. The food has never been a disappointment in fact it is our favorite Asian restaurant in all of Zurich. The only downside is there are no children's portions but you can ask for half portions which are price wise not ideal as its only a few francs cheaper. (nerenechun, 12-05-2012)

Restaurant Bar L'O - Horgen
Bahnhofstrasse 29

Beautiful Setting right next to the lake. trendy bar lounge but service is very slow & prices high (nerenechun, 12-05-2012)

Imkerei-Museum - Grüningen
Untere Mülistrasse
8627 Grüningen
Interesting museum on bees and honey making. Ideal for children and adults. Pity only that you can't try the honey there. Watching the bees makes you crave some fresh honey... (headspacer, 07-05-2012)

Hotel Europe - Zürich
Dufourstrasse 4
8008 Zürich
Fir the third time I have been staying in this hotel now and it has always been a pleasure! Small 4* hotel close to the lake and the opera house, good service, clean, nicely and traditional decorated rooms, and very important... Very good beds in which you sleep very well! Free WiFi access is available in the hotel and the rooms. Breakfast is good, they offer a buffet at CHF 25, but for me not really worth the money! Resuming... If you go to Zürich and you wanna stay in a nice hotel, but you don't wanna spend more than CHF 300 a night, I can really recommend this hotel. There might be weekly arrangements as well, but I used it for 2 day trips only so I can't comment on this! (soyquiensoy, 17-04-2012)
