3 Points out of 5

I stayed here about ten years ago when it was a little more run-down than it is today, it was one of the nicest hotels I’ve known, mainly because the staff went out of their way to make your stay special, the food by Cuban standards was good, free salsa lesson were provided daily on the roof, I’d go back today if I could. What’s more the rooms are so inexpensive.

I didn't stay in one of the rooms at the Hotel Nacional during my stay in Cuba, so I cannot comment on the standard of them, however I did visit the garden restaurant on several occasions and found it to be absolutely lovely to sit outside on the terrace enjoying the climate and the views. Each time, the food was standard Cuban cuisine that was very tasty.

Our last night, our group ate in the 1930 Room and were fortunate enough to watch a performance by Buena Vista Social Club as the food was served and encouraged to spend the evening dancing and enjoying ourselves. The service throughout was impeccable and the food was very good, but the entertainment provided the highlight of the night.

Don't ever bother booking this venue for a party or birthday party or you will end up being highly disappointed. This is what happened on a saturday night where we book a table to enjoy an exotic evening in 7 of us and celebrate a friend's birthday.
The restaurant was fully booked and staff should have been well trained for this sort of situation.
This was the worst service and night out that I ever experienced in my entire life; they forgot about my cake order and on top of it; it did not even display the message that I requested well in advance. In addition our drinks and cocktails never reached our table ( we drunk one bottle of champagne on the whole evening!) and if we weren't attentive at our final bill we would have had ended up paying for those drinks that never came! BEWARE!!!

This hotel is perfectly located for Havana old town, great facilities, including lovely bar where we enjoyed the prado and neptuno cocktails in particular. The staff were very friendly and efficient. Breakfast buffet was good although a little over crowded on the mornings we stayed. Roof top pool area lovely with great views over the city

Don´t stay in this casa. It was broken into our apartment which was closed, our bags were rifled through and a lot of money was stolen. When we called the police we felt quite helplesss since they didn´t help us, the police and owner of the casa. Don´t take this casa, there are much better casas...
Jürgen from Germany

One of the most memorable evenings out I've ever had. A good show on stage with dancers, singers, acrobats etc. A very simple drinks policy of a bottle of rum and cans of cola for the table but it kind of works. The highlight of the evening had to be dancing with one of the showgirls and having a photo to prove it.

2 Points out of 5

The Hotel Sevilla is a historical building, but rests on its laurels. Once, perhaps in the 1950s, it was a leading hotel in Havana, but no longer. A traveller can get much better accommodation for the same money... or similar accommodation for a lot less money.

The location, on the edge of Havana Vieja, is excellent, and the shopping arcade attached to the hotel is a useful feature. However, I found some of the staff surly (even by Cuban standards) and my first trip was my last.

We had a 5 day all inclusive holiday here, where everything was inclusive. Eating and drinking, leisure and catamaran, great ambient, but not too intrusive, a private sandy beach, great peddle boat with which one can go a bit further out on the ocean to snorkel and the food was excellent, very varied and who doesn't like buffets could go to one of the other two restaurant and eat there. Amazing cuisine. The waiters and the Mojitos were also excellent and we had the nicest Caribbean holiday of our lives here. Really recommendable.

This is great even if it's just a replica distillery. You can sign up for a guided tour (in a lot of languages. There are models of the process of making rum, replica machines etc. It was excellent and very interesting. There is a little gift shop where you can get rum, glassware, shirts, etc.
You can't go to Havana without visiting the Museo del Ron

Eduardo's Beachbar is really wonderful.

Best burgers in town and this nice guy make your stay a real pleasure.

The bar is located on a really nice place at the beach of Varadero where none of those terrible all-inc clubs are, so its not too crowded here.
