Best coffee in the valley (ok, I haven't tried all the other places that sell coffee around the lake, but I'll take a bet none of them is as good as this). A must stop for coffee lovers, they sell all kinds of specialty brands (at a price, obviously). What I really liked was the personal service by the owner himself, he told us about the coffees and different preparation methods. We could also take a smell of the different beans that are kept in large metal canisters - the difference is amazing. Upon reading the descriptions at first I thought they'd be exaggerated, but now that I've tried some of the coffee I can tell you it's worth it. The only downside is that unfortunately they don't take as much effort to find and sell good milk and croissants as they do with their coffee (why ruin a great coffee with a mediocre milk?). This restaurant is a must! The dining room is rustic and cozy. There are about 40 seats. The main room is decorated with a large grill. The guests get no menu. First you can choose between 3 different salads. But even the little salad is plentiful. On the plate there are 12 different salads. All prepared fresh and taste just great. Then the boss comes with a large tray full of various meats. Pork, beef, ostrich, lamb, etc. Everything is lovingly explained and demonstrated. The meat is then selected freshly grilled. This one can choose between a baked potato or hash browns. This great food is then served with fresh herb butter and a spicy sauce at the table. The guesthouse has surprised us very positively. The apartments are nice, incredibly clean and the hosts are very warm and friendly. We therefore have the same book the next holiday there. Those seeking peace and relaxation, there just right. Thickness of 5 Stars!! (Kerstin0708, 14-06-2011) 5

My wife and I visited the Slyrs distillery on 25th May this year. A 5 Euro entrance fee allows you to view a short video presentation in a purpose built viewing room. Then you can wander around the actual distillery area to see the malt production area and the beautiful copper stills. Following this, you proceed through the barrel storage area and end up at the tasting room, where you are given a whisky and a liqueur to sample, both of which are extremely palatable. After the tour, purchases can be made at the shop, which is the entrance to the distillery. There are 70cl and 50cl bottles available for most products and a wide variety of fruit liqueurs are evident. I recommend this experience if you are travelling in this area of Bavaria.
