Was attacted by the Warsteiner sign, then the breakffast Menu, this was excellent, I even managed to get a Bacon(Speck) roll for my breakfast. The Pizzas and German menu continue the varied choices at reasonable price, Will definately re-visit on our next trip to Berilin. (nodreyno, 01-06-2012) 5

I have never before been so moved as to write a review. For €11 you get to witness (note, not interact) with most horrible level of service imaginable, simply rude, surly and utterly lacking in basic politeness, let alone willingness to help. For €11 you get a five minute burst of someone hacking away near your skull with all the skill and care of a sixteen year old forced to mow the lawn during the summer holidays when all their friends are at the beach.For €11 you get a hairdresser who actually complains to you when you ask to have your hair cut to how you require and first asked, even within this five minute allotment.For €11 you get a haircut which you need to rather extensively fix up at home. Sticking a bowl on my head and cutting around the rim would have been an instant, significant and obvious improvement in terms of consistency and technique.This is directed at the brunette girl working on the morning of the 29/05/2012. Not only are you completely lacking in any charm and skill, you wear too much make up. I sincerely hope, for the business' sake, that they do not pay you. I am prepared to accept a certain level of mediocrity when paying €11, but the very real dearth of attention and basic decency is worth exactly nothing, let alone my time. Most of the reviews in German are similar, for any who don't read the language so are checking here. Perhaps the other "hairdressers" are decent, but should you see any girl with long brown hair inside the "salon," better safe than sorry. (EricMcTang, 29-05-2012) 1

Als Mann war ich lange auf der Suche nach einem günstigen Friseur ohne Termin und ohne zu hippe frieseure.Hier fühl ich mich wohl. Wir waren im Asphalt Club mit einem Groupon Deal: 4-Gaenge und Prosecco mit Musikbegleitung.Der erste Eindruck: totales Chaos. Fuer 20 Uhr Tisch reserviert, kurz vorher waren wir da und wurden von einem gerade ankommenden Herrn mit Hemd im Arm nach unserm Anliegen gefragt. Was der wohl von uns will? Er kam gerade bei der Arbeit an. Okay, so viel Einsatz ehrt ihn, aber wenn um 20 Uhr die Mitarbeiter noch nicht fertig fuer die ersten Gaeste sind, dann sollte man Tischreservierungen vielleicht doch erst ab 20.30 Uhr annehmen.Ungelogene 30 Min spaeter waren wir noch nicht in der Lage, Getraenke (extra, ausserhalb des Groupon Deals) zu bestellen: bei vielleicht 20 weiteren Gaesten war keiner der Mitarbeiter in der Lage einen Ueberblick ueber die schon mit Menues versorgten Gaeste zu behalten. Unser Wein kam dann noch vor dem Prosecco, der als Teil des Groupon Deals doch eigentlich zur Begruessung gereicht werden sollte? Hatte ich wohl falsch verstanden!Essen war okay, das Dessert (Creme Brulee) war phantastisch, aber am Ende des Tages war es nicht moeglich auf Extrakosten eine weitere Portion zu bekommen. Das war enttaeuschend.Zudem wurden wir gleich am Anfang geschockt, dass wir 10 Euro extra zahlen sollen, wegen der besonderen musikalischen Gaeste heute Abend: Capital Dance Orchestra. Das wurde dann am Ende nicht abgerechnet und das war gut so. Die Musik war ganz eindeutig super und es wert gewesen, extra abgerechnet zu werden. Aber dann doch bitte mit Vorwarnung in dem Augenblick, in dem ich die Reservierung mache.Sharon Brauner als Saengerin exzellent, phantastische Jiddische Lieder, Daniel Hoeferlin als Herr des Hauses war auch okay. Ein gelungener Abend, auch wenn der Laden fuer ein Restaurant (und das soll es ja auch sein) eindeutig besser organisiert gehoert!Fazit: Asphalt wg. der Schwierigkeiten 2 Sterne, aber die Musik haette auch 4 verdient! I came to Berlin with my husband and 2 small (well traveled and behaved little boys) and we were highly recommended to go to the barn for the best coffee in Berlin by very in the "know" London coffee people. But, what the hell. This place is completely snobby and cliched. Complete with new zealand/australian baristas and square mile coffee prepared to perfection in a hario blah blah blah. First, sad I walked from prenzlauer berg ( which has three of the loveliest coffee places to visit ) all the way to mitte for this place. Second, in all my days as a parent....I have never been made to feel so horrible about my children being in a cafe. We bought a cake, a juice, left our pram outside. Come on. We love coffee, we love Berlin. But the Barn is trying WAY WAY to hard. Pretentious. Box ticking. Kissing all the right asses. AVOID. PS....the baristas were friendly enough. Today (May 25 2012) my friend and I went to Boetzow Privat to have lunch. The place looks pretty nice from outside and also from inside. We decided for the originial Wiener Schnitzel which costs about 18 Euros. The Schnitzel was maybe the most awful dish I was served in years. The Schnitzel was definitely not freshly made - my friend and I were actually wondering if it was even cooked this week (it's friday!). Its taste and the smell were really gross. Its color of the meet was some strange red. It looked really disgusting! We were waiting for the waitress in order to complain. Surprisingly she was not showing up for half an hour or so (maybe she was sensing some critique caused by the old Schnitzlel...). Anyway, when she finally came to our table she took the Schnitzel back to the kitchen in order to... I don't know. She didn't show up for another 15 mins so we just went inside. Without asking if we would like to have a replacement dish (maybe they have only old Schnitzels), she directly claimed that she would - generously - not bill us the Schnitzel... but we must pay for the side dish (some average potato salad). So we payed more than 14 Euros for potato salad (that we didn't even ate up) and 2 apple juices - hilarious.Only because of this shitty experience I registered for QYPE to write this comment... Good for meetings in Mitte, coffe ok but not great and prices are fine for this part of town. Nice to work on laptop if you want a bit of a buzzy atmosphere (and a lot of hipster/start-up people!). (berlinisgreat, 23-05-2012) 4
