Pension Dietrich (Frankfurt (Oder), by Redsocks)

Unbelievable, but there was no available room in Frankfurt therefore we found the pension Dietrich and stayed there for 2 nights. The rooms are small, but if you are only here to sleep, then it is completely appropriate. The interior is bright and friendly and everything makes a decent impression! The boss took care about the breakfast and was in general very nice. One is very fast in the city centre by tram or bus. The taxi ride from the centre to the pension costs 8€. We liked it. The house is surrounded by car shops, therefore it's really quiet at night, which you probably wont find with a hotel in the centre.

Cafe-Bar CENTRAL (Frankfurt (Oder), by venable)

A nice café with a selection of smaller dishes, for example omelettes at 4,50 euro or a ham salad for 6,50.

The omelette was lovely, the ham in the salad a bit suspicious - what does "vord. Schinken" mean anyway? Pressed ham? A bigger selection of salads would be nice.

Best thing at Cafe-Bar Central is the big outdoor seating facing the square. It attracts tourists and locals alike.

2 Points out of 5

We spent one Sunday night here.

The facilities were basic but adequate.

The bathroom was okay. My husband said the men’s was dirty. The ladies’ was okay. The shower was a general shower (no privacy). The toilets were very private, though, but one roll of t.p. for everyone to use (you took it before you go into the stalls).

We set our tent up away from the other tents, but quite a distance from the bathroom. Lots of the other tenters were up all night, however, drinking and laughing loudly, so apparently there is no quiet hour. It was quite loud til 2 am but some were up as late as 5:30 am. This was the hardest thing for us since we didn’t sleep well because of this. Since we were a family, it was not necessarily a pleasant experience.

The other facilities, however, were fine. There was a nice beach and a place to eat on site with kiosks.

You can’t park your car next to your tent. You leave it in a parking spot, and it costs 2.5 E for parking.

There was no working employee the night we were there, on site. The reception doesn’t open til 8 am and closes by 3 pm daily. It isn’t very “friendly” for people who are traveling and using the place like a hotel.

It was sufficient for sleeping. The party atmosphere was a huge negative for us, but there were plenty of places to pitch our tents.

I wouldn’t stay there again, however. I’d search for a quieter place. There are plenty in Germany.

Simple B&B hotel with adjacent restaurant. Rooms are generally OK but nothing special. For the price (41€ / single room) one can find something better. However: No big complaints. Telefon didn't work. No WLAN. Breakfast is scarce - but sufficient to satisfy hunger. I wouldn't go there again but try to find somewhere better for that price.

Although the highway passes right by the building you won't notice anything in the rooms. The service is great. The breakfast buffet convinced us, even special requests are being fulfilled. The restaurant has many Italian dishes on the menu, unfortunately few local ones. You really cannot complain about the prices.
