Very large selection of Japanese groceries, Japanese cooking tools, Japanese cast iron tea kettles, Japanese miso soup bowls, Japanese rice bowls, Japanese calligraphy brushes, etc.
I am completely impressed.
The store is also filled with a large selection of spices and foods from Korea and some selected items from the other Asian countries.
Prices are great! I bought and paid:
€ 0.95 for 500 g bag of popcorn
€ 1.00 for 330 ml cold can of Coke Zero
€ 1.10 for 400 g bag of tapioca flour
€ 1.40 for 300 g bag of "azuki" Japanese red beans
€ 2.55 for 500 g bag of sticky rice (from Thailand)
€ 3.20 for 40 (12.5 g) pieces of "nori" flavored seaweed paper
€ 3.35 for box of 20 "umeboshi" Japanese pickled plums from China
€ 5.65 for 12 g "Sakura" Japanese cherry blossom tea
€ 6.50 for 200 g jar of "umeboshi" Japanese pickled plums from Japan
I wish I had found "shiro ume-su", the vinegary, salty juice leftover from the process of making umeboshi. Buying umeboshi and draining the juice from it was a good enough alternative.
I looked for Sakura extract. I didn't really expect to find it, since it seems to still be only sold in Japan.
The owner helped me look for Japanese sticky rice, which is supposed to be smaller and rounder than the version I bought from Thailand. She said they must be sold out at the moment.
The Sakura tea is extremely rare and was a nice find. I got the last box, by the way.
All in all, I had a great experience. I browsed for a long time without employees acting nervous and when I needed help, they were calm and friendly.
I'm definitely coming back.

Good place, nice atmosphere, great for lunch or dinner with good French brasserie food. But overall a missed opportunity to offer something really original and special. It's halfway to being a lovely authentic French café-bistro but they don't dare trust the German public with something so adventurous as that, so it's a story of half-measures. The food at lunch or dinner is French, the wines are French, but the breakfast is decidedly German - I asked for a pain au chocolat and the (German) waiter looked at me like I'd asked for a salade aux gésiers. No pain aux raisins, no tartines, no homemade confiture aux mirabelles, but Wurst, Käse and boiled eggs - this is not a Parisian experience. The selection of tea completely disappointing - another missed opportunity - and the coffee also completely German, no café au lait in a bowl. And not even French beer. If I could go in and read a copy of Le Monde with a genuine French breakfast or come in at 4pm for thé au citron, it would be unique. As it is it's just another Frühstückscafe with a bit of a twist. Dommage.

Föhnen, was ja auch 11€ obendrauf kostet.

Great place, especially for the price. Pho was good and had good flavour and the selection of table sauces allowed you to spice it to taste (as should be the case with SE asian food) very impressed with the quality of their sencha green tea
