How comes I still have not reviewed Luba Luft?!?! Let's make it plain and simple from the beginning: that's my favourite cocktail bar in St Pauli and Hamburg. They have a good choice of cocktail to chose from but if you are not sure about what you want just ask the Barkeepers, they usually can give you some pretty good tips and they could even create something just for you. Just to not be too biased, I must mention a few things that I don't like as much as the cocktails : 1) (usually) music, 2) smoking inside is allowed. 1) is usually a indispensable requisite for me in order to really like a place, the fact I'm coming here on regular basis should give you an idea on how good the cocktails are. If you are new to the place or never tried it, I'd suggest you try the "Rum Mint Smash", that's by far my favourite cocktail. (Stefano, 28-05-2012) 5

What a great café! Everything here is so nice, neat, well curated and full of passion and dedication that is really hard not to be amazed by it. Have a look at the furniture, the atmosphere, the manners of the people who are running it and you'll get it from the git go. Everything is made by the ladies who run the place, they've got a breakfast and lunch menu and usually 3 or 4 different types of cakes. Waiting time can be a bit longer that usual, since there's usually just one person and she's got to do everything: take the order, possibly cook it and serve it. So be patient, it definitely worths it. I can absolutely recommend it, but be aware that if you're up to get a quick coffee and go it might not be the right place for you. (Stefano, 26-05-2012) 5

Bleeuggh. I was clearly here, since my phone checked me in and I have photos to prove it. However having followed the crowds down at 5.30 am following all night Chelsea-beating-Bayern revelry I don't remember much about it!What I DO remember though was Queen Mary 2 gliding by at 6am plus being saved by about a pint of hot cappuccino poured into me an hour later. Easily this is one of the best things about living in Hamburg. It's a must see/ don't go away for the weekend event.When I describe this event to non-Hamburg friends they just don;t get it. A load of stalls lined along the river, with lots of sideshows punctuated by food drinks and a lot of fun. Oh and hundreds and hundreds of boats of all shapes and sizes.But to appreciate the Hafengeburtstag you have to come and see it. Or rather dive into it. And stay up for the whole thing. It's a raucous mess of an event, too busy, too expensive, too cold, too loud, too tiring, too much to see. But I absolutely LOVE it. (Richard Dennys, 24-05-2012) 5

For all new-hamburg citizens and other newcomers: please avoid this pub, although it is well placed and has a very nice indoor and outdoor furniture, outworn but sympathetic. But everything else but sympathetic is the service, a look into the kitchen far from convincing, and the toilets, apart from being very narrow are dirty, even though it was afternoon time.Service is the worst I have experienced in the last months (took him 30 min to prepare a sandwich, then I got a turkey one instead of tuna, he noticed and took the right one from another table, and a.o. being very rude. to sum up in Cicero's terms: Ceterum censeo Karoecke esse delendam (pwatnet2001, 20-05-2012) 1
