Alter Dragoner. - Ludwigslust
Käthe-Kollwitz-Str. 1a
19288 Ludwigslust
(hhamburgerjung, 14-04-2012)

Dom - Schwerin
Am Dom
Schwerin
Schwerin Dom (Cathedral) is a very impressive building and dominates the city skyline. Sadly, it could also do with some serious renovation work. There is indeed some ongoing, but it needs a lot more. For a small fee (€2 I think), you can climb the tower, which sounds like a good idea, but we didn't try it ourselves. Other than the imposing structure, there is some seriously impressive stained glass, but again it could to with further cleaning and renovation. (aLii, 12-03-2012)

Schweriner Schloss - Schwerin
Lennestraße 2
19061 Schwerin
Schweriner Schloss is definitely the tourism highlight of Schwerin. It's the beautiful former home of the Dukes of Mecklenburg and now the seat of government for the German state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommen. There's an entrance fee of €6 and a further €3 for a photography pass, which is entirely reasonable. Considering that the castle is situated in the former East Germany, it has survived in a pretty good condition, with a lot of the original furniture and artwork still here. Make sure that you go for a walk around the grounds as well - There are some spectacular lake-views to be seen. (aLii, 12-03-2012)

Gasthof Zur guten Quelle - Schwerin
Schusterstr. 12
19055 Schwerin
This place looks a lot nicer on the outside than it does inside, but I can recommend it based upon the food, beer & service - all of which were good, if not spectacular. I tried the "sauerfleisch" which is basically chunks of pork with bell peppers in jelly (aspic). For such a random-sounding food, it was pretty tasty. Sadly it was also served cold, but that's how it's meant to be (apparently). At least the potatoes it came with were warm! (aLii, 12-03-2012)

Unity - Schwerin
Arsenalstraße 36
19053 Schwerin
Unity is a decent little bar, even if the 80s music was a bit random when we were there. We were there early on a Sunday evening and basically had the bar to ourselves, but you can't really expect a bar to be busy at such times. The beer was good and the service was decent. (aLii, 12-03-2012)

Rösterei Fuchs - Schwerin
Am Markt 4
19055 Schwerin
I didn't see too much of Schwerin life, as pretty much everything is closed on Sunday's, but Roesterei Fuchs stood out as a pretty awesome little coffee shop. In fact, I think I'd go as far as saying that it rivals the best cafe's in Hamburg. The coffee was great. The chocolate was also great and service & decor are good. If they hadn't been closing, and if we'd had more time, then I think we could have easily spent a good deal longer here - as it was we stayed for two coffee's each... (aLii, 12-03-2012)

Bio Insel-Bio Supermarkt, Naturkostladen - Stralsund
Tribseer Damm 75
18437 Stralsund
Very nice shop with a good range of groceries. The café is quite nice, food not spectacular, although homey and satisfying. At least one vegan offer each day, and best of all, it's open sundays! (bragur, 03-02-2012)
