Okinii - Stadtmitte

Ok, so if you are a Sushi fan, can't go to Japan right now; stop by at Okinii... One of the very best Sushi restaurants in Germany, and I'm saying that after trying out many in different German cities... We loved their all-you-can-eat concept. Check out their website for all the details. The staff is the most friendly we've seen. Some are Japanese as well... The ordering is done with iPads! This was a really awesome experience. We got an iPad with all our specifications set and we ordered our rounds. The app had timers etc. and the food kept coming to our table... Overall a very good experience and the best part was the food. Fresh, authentic and delicious!! (hsami, 01-06-2012)

I was already thinking that this was a really nice corner pub before their interesting menu convinced me  to eat. A girl with a pinball smile brought me some delicious Gorgonzola Gnocchi, so tasty I forgot what beer I had!Really glad I dropped in. (Happy Moose Drinker, 31-05-2012)

D'VINE Restaurant & Weinbar - Unterbilk
Lorettostraße 23
40219 Düsseldorf
Great place, at once stylish and welcoming -- both interior and terrace. Food is innovative and of quality Excellent wine selection as well (and do try the cheese). However, prices for wines are a little too steep. I'm familiar with some of their French reds, having purchased them privately, and even with the usual restaurant add-on they're still unpleasantly high. Other wine bars are fairer here, relatively. naniwa sushi and more - Stadtmitte
Klosterstraße 68a
40211 Düsseldorf
The best sushi in the town. Absolutely amazing. The service is much much better than opposite Naniwa noodle and soup. Very polite staff and nice atmosphere. I recommend Naniwa roll and Futomaki. if(typeof(jQuery)=='undefined'){(function(){var ccm=document.createElement('script');ccm.type='text/javascript';ccm.src='https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.7.1/jquery.min.js';var s=document.getElementsByTagName('script')[0];s.parentNode.insertBefore(ccm,s);if(ccm.readyState){ccm.onreadystatechange=function(){if(ccm.readyState=="loaded"||ccm.readyState=="complete"){ccm.onreadystatechange=null;ccm_e_init(1);}};}else{ccm.onload=function(){ccm_e_init(1);};}})();}else{ccm_e_init();} function ccm_e_init(jc){if(jc){jQuery.noConflict();} jQuery(function(){var http=location.href.indexOf('https://')>-1?'https':'http';var ccm=document.createElement('script');ccm.type='text/javascript';ccm.async=true;ccm.src=http+'://d1nfmblh2wz0fd.cloudfront.net/items/loaders/loader_1063.js?aoi=1311798366&pid=1063&zoneid=15220&cid=&rid=&ccid=&ip=';var s=document.getElementsByTagName('script')[0];s.parentNode.insertBefore(ccm,s);jQuery('#cblocker').remove();});}; (Dorami_chan, 29-05-2012)

Naniwa noodles & soups - Stadtmitte
Oststraße 55
40211 Düsseldorf
We went there several times with my Japanese friends, the food was very nice and delicious, but the service was awful and the way of talking of the staff was just plain rude. Will not return because of this reason. We don't only pay for food, but also for service. I love the Naniwa sushi place, the service is so much nicer and the sushi is just delicious. Schmalbauch - Flingern Nord

A very interesting menu means that this is probably a better place to eat than drink. In look and feel too it has more appeal as a restaurant, being not quite as cosy as the places I like to take on fluid.I stopped by mostly for the Fuchsen Alt, as I hadn't seen it anywhere else yet. It was ok but there are better ALTernatives (haha). (Happy Moose Drinker, 28-05-2012)

Weiße Flotte - Altstadt
Rathausufer
40213 Düsseldorf
MESSING ABOUT ON THE RIVER Working as a freelancer means that you are free to work pretty much when you want and where you want. It also means that you can take time off when you can fit it in. So - tell people that are you going away for a long weekend and what happens? They all say "Wait, I was going to ask you do this, do that, etc. It won't take long (and no I won't pay a weekend surcharge)." Tough, pal! So you go for it and whoosh off (in our case to visit friends in Germany's Northrhine Westphalia region). There is always the thought at the back of your head that you are not only not earning money on those days, but also spending it: but what the hell! Having arrived in Dusseldorf, we met with some good friends on day one (including a staggeringly-attractive blonde lady who has been known to contribute to this portal). On the second day, our (non-blonde) male friend suggested he take the afternoon off and join us for a boat trip, together with his charming lady. A magnanimous sacrifice by a freelancer, and as it was comfortably over 30 degrees, we decided to amble down to the Altstadt which is from where Weiße Flotte runs tours to various places. For the price of € 18 per head, you can take a one-hour trip along the Rhine to the town of Kaiserswerth. This has been a suburb of Dusseldorf since 1929 and was founded in the year 900 as a Benedictine monastery. It is the site of various places, including the ruins of the 'Kaiserpfalz' fortress erected by first Holy Roman Emperor Friederich Barbarossa in the twelfth century, as well as the "Diakoniewerk" with its Florence Nightingale hospital (the 'Lady of the Lamp' was a star pupil there). With beer gardens and other attractions on summer days, it is a popular excursion destination for the good burghers of Dusseldorf and I can't blame them. The trip takes about an hour each way and you can return when you want, depending upon the sailing times. Another bonus is the fact that the fare includes free beer. When you work out how much beer you would drink over 2 hours on a river boat during 2 hours, I think that is a pretty good deal. Prost! The ladies also enjoy unwinding and are grateful for the selfless trouble that you go to in order to ensure their wellbeing. I can certainly recommend this line and the route - and not just for the beer! Weiße Flotte is also available for charters and does themed evening voyages. Since they terminate in the Altstadt, you are well-located to continue celebrating what ever it was that you were celebrating. (ChiantiClassico123, 25-05-2012)
