“ The Aachener Weiher is a really fun place to go in the summer time. On sunny days there are a lot of people with their BBQ. It's the perfect location to simply enjoy your after work beer with some colleges or buddies. I always enjoy being there. BTW: The pictures look really dusty. “ Kamen vor 6 Uhr abends rein und wollten drinnen sitzen weil biergarten kuenstlich verkleinert und sowieso der Himmel regnerisch aussah. Wir wurden von 3 Bedienungen begruesst aber wir mussten nach minutenlanger Wartezeit selber nachfragen ob die Kueche auf sei. Man sagte uns wir muessten uns bis 6 gedulden aber auch hier wurde erst spaet nachgefragt ob wir was trinken wollten. Was komisch war ist aber das die Bedienungen einen Salat nach den anderen nach draussen schleppten. Entweder waren wir zu doof oder die hatten einfach keine Lust. Das Essen war aber die richtige Entaeuschung. Chappi ist eine Beschreibung die auf die zu grossen Fleisch und Salatstuecke passten. Kuenstliche Salatsossen und ein viel zu kleiner Teller mit viel zu viel Salat. Meine Begleitung war auch nicht happy. Zu viel Dressing. Fisch nicht gewuerzt und Pellkartoffeln nicht gesalzen. “ Near the "Rheinau harbour": http://www.qype.com/place/470068-Rheinauhafen-Koeln lies the Novotel City along the much travelled Bayenstrasse. Upon booking I didn't think to book a room 'to the back' so I had the view of a crane tower instead. The windows are very well soundproofed so that, with the window closed, the traffic on the Bayenstrasse can barely be heard at all. The decor isn't that thrilling, my bathroom was a combined shower-tub. The breakfast really convinced me: a lot of fresh fruit (not the chilled fruit salad you find elsewhere), waffels and pancakes, fried beans, eggs, bacon and other things for an English breakfast. “ I was visiting Köln again and saw the WDR special on this new concept in an unique location, Rheinauhafen. I booked half a day and enjoyed an excellent Hawaiian Bodywork that I have never experienced in Germany, really worth every cent ! This intensive massage can not be compared to all the crap you get by booking a cheap massage. Afterwards, I enjoyed a facial that gave me deep relaxation and was rejuvenating. The finish my treatment, my hair was cut and styled highly professionally (with Shu Uemura, like I get in HongKong). A perfect relaxing day in a perfect environment with very gentle professionals.
