PROGRAMME

PART 1:
5.30pm - 7.00pm ZED-U + OREN MARSHALL
THE FRONT ROOM AT QUEEN ELIZABETH HALL

Electro-experimental trio ZED-U play a kind of ‘jazz-dubstep’ using multiple loops and effects. The band perform material from their forthcoming album Night Time on the Middle Passage (Babel)

Pioneer of the electric tuba, Oren Marshall channels his instrument through an effects mixer to produce layers of sound. Oren has collaborated with the likes of Keith Tippett, the Pan-African Orchestra and the London Philharmonic Orchestra.

PART 2:
8.30pm - 1.00am ZENA EDWARDS + CHIMA ANYA + BUBBZ
+ Live visuals by GULAB CHAGGAR
CONCRETE AT THE HAYWARD GALLERY

Spoken word artist and musician, Zena Edwards accompanys her words with traditional African-instrumentation. She has recently performed live on the Ras Kwame show (Radio 1.)

Ghanian MC and producer Bubbz has performed with the likes of Mark Ronson, Scratch Perverts, Kano, and Flying Lotus, blending sharp, politically shoulder-shrugging lines to a backdrop of electro-hip-hop

This show will have a support slot from emerging London MC Chima Anya and guest DJs will perform until the early hours. This line up will be set to a backdrop of live visuals and film projections by emerging artist Gulab Chaggar.

PART 3: 9.30pm-10.30pm ZED-U + SPECIAL GUESTS
THE FRONT ROOM AT QUEEN ELIZABETH HALL

ZED-U will perform a live collaboration with special guests Zena Edwards, Oren Marshall and perhaps a few surprise appearances.
