What/Why:
High up on the roof of Queen Elizabeth Hall, a riverboat appears to have come to rest – grounded, perhaps, from the retreating waters of the Thames below. You can book to stay in this unique one-bedroom installation from £120 (for up to two people) throughout 2012.
At the end of every month, invited guests – writers, musicians and artists – use the room as their studio and reflect on London and its place in the world in a continuing series of postings, podcasts and streamed performances.
Bookings open on 8 September 2011 (for nights from January – June 2012). The second stage of bookings (for nights from July – December 2012) begins in January 2012. For more information and to book through Living Architecture, visit aroomforlondon.co.uk
A Room for London is a major new collaboration between Living Architecture and Artangel, in association with Southbank Centre, the London 2012 Festival and Arts Council England.
Please note: Jan-June 2012 nights went live on 8th Sept, and are now sold out. July-Dec 2012 nights open for online booking on 19th January 2012.
