What/Why:

The Dead Lay Waiting are a 5 piece band from Swindon. They started writing music together in 2007, almost immediately making an instant impact on the local scene opening and supporting bands such as: Aborted, Abagail Williams, Argent Dawn and Eternal Lord.

The band went to record their first E.P “Memories Of A Massacre” at “Studio 6” in late 2007 which was then followed by a self-titled E.P in early 2008. They then started to get recognised out of their local scene due to the release of their self titled E.P and started touring the U.K.

Mid 2008 The Dead Lay Waiting performed in Ipswich and spotted by the well acclaimed “Rising Records” (Trigger The Bloodshed, Bleed From Within, Mendeed) and signed a U.K and Europe 5 year contract; which saw the band to record their debut album “We Rise” in Jan 2009. Their debut album was released in Jan 2010 and produced the sound the band had worked very hard to achieve.

After playing a major festival every year (Bloodstock 2008, Hammerfest 2009, Download Festival 2010) and playing to packed out crowds every year, has proven the band are more than capable playing on the big stage. With a fan base growing worldwide the band have hit the studio in 2010 to record their follow up to “We Rise” and are ready to take on anything anywhere, and perform their bone crushing live performance across the world.
