What/Why:

Dom Pipkin brought together a tightly knit group of seasoned musician to create Dom & The Iko’s. Taking the ground breaking recordings of key New Orleans players such as Professor Longhair and Huey ‘Piano’ Smith as their starting point, the band’s mission was to bring the post-war New Orleans sound firmly back to life. They have succeeded in finding those lost Caribbean-meets-R&B grooves, and have reinvigorated them, with a vengeance!
