What/Why:
In other words: Herzog does Antarctica.
That most intrepid documentarian Werner Herzog plunges as low as you can go, taking his camera and trademark dry observation to the South Pole. The vast expanses of white landscape are beautifully photographed but the film’s colour comes from the collection of odd bods Herzog meets there – scientists, experts and fanatics dedicated to exploring and preserving this unique corner of the globe.
The Nomad will be pitching up at Hyde Park Lido for a mini season of documentary films celebrating our glorious Earth and its many wonders. Join us in this beautiful Royal Park for a very special open-air screening of Encounters At The End Of The World, enhanced by musical and culinary surprises themed around Herzog’s Antarctic adventure.
The Nomad Cinema is a roaming pop-up cinema that brings magical and carefully curated film happenings to wide-eyed audiences of all ages and sizes at an inspiring range of beautiful, curious and downright strange screening locations.
And with Nomad’s dedication to provide 100% of its profit to the Sustainability Institute in South Africa (the charity also supported by the Nomad’s big Sister, the Lexi Cinema) you can find comfort knowing that as well as having fun, you’re doing something good too.
