Good morning, Newbie here. I tripped over Qype while surfing for something else a few days ago and could not resist signing up. My question is that I wrote a few restaurant reviews earlier this year for the Ciao website. What is the protocol on re-posting them on Qype? One or two I could update.

As long as you wrote the originals you can use the reviews again here.
Qype’s T&Cs specifically state that you do not give an exclusive licence when you post a review here.

If you didn’t agree to any kind of exclusivity on CIAO when joining there (giving up the rights) the material is yours and you can do what you want. And Qype is probably more than happy for any good original content.
I personally think it would be a good start for you into qype and I know some people who write professionally and post their material here as well, though often shortened to the more compact review format.

Thanks for that. I’ll double check re the exclusivity on Ciao. One of the reasons I’ve stopped using Ciao is because they seem to value quantity over quality in their reviews and quite frankly I could not be ar**d to make up the waffle. If I can cut-and-paste it will probably include a bit of editing. Qype seems to be a place for the pithy one-liners as much as the 'in-depth’ stuff (to me at least).
Any hoo got to go off to the day job now. Sadly.
