One hundred yers of solitude is a fabulous read. Any one tried The History of Love? Its a sream of consciousness, but so beautiful and from two totally different voices *

Things my Mother Never Told Me,. This is a touching account of Blake Morrison’s mother, as she is dying, and his search through her letters with his Dad when they were courting. Tender, unsparing, and poignant. I thoroughly recommend it

Fifty Shades of Grey E L James
I was working recently on the new John Lewis store in Exeter
just across the road from the site I noticed a waterstones formerly waterstone’s
a couple of days earlier I’d heared an intreview with Ms James on radio 5
and later that week saw her on Breakfast TV
the hype must of got to me
so I went in W S ‘s and not knowing if was in paperback thought i’d ask an assistant if they had it
As it happens I did’int need to ask, it was the first book I seen as soon as i walked in
I took the book over to the counter to pay my £5.50
AS he was putting the book into a bag I asked the assistant
“are you selling loads of these”
" I don’t know, I usually work upstairs" he said
Anyway I never read the book myself I bought it for someone else who told me it was pretty much a copy of nine half weeks …………………..

Are you a Kindle user or do you prefer actual books?

I am just re-reading The Knife Man by Wendy Moore. It is a biography of John Hunter a c18 famous surgeon, naturalist and teacher. Today he is considered as the father of modern surgery.
The descriptions that Wendy Moore uses are very detailed and can be a bit gory at times, even with descriptions like that I highly recommend it if you don’t mind reading descriptions with gory details.
