    Hi All,

We’re all really excited to hear how you’re using Qype RADAR, and any feedback you’ve got on your experiences, particularly if you live in the South Pole… or even South Wales…

    Cheers,
    Phil

    Hi Phil,

Any chance of a non iPhone version? I’m still on Windows Mobile… (I know… but at least it’s not a blackberry).

  • 30 December 2008

I would be happy to customise the Places list or to bookmark categories in the app!

    Hi Andy,

No plans to launch a Windows mobile version just yet I’m afraid, but as always, watch this space! We do plan other handset support in 2009…

    Cheers,
    Phil

Hi Phil I have an LG Cookie which is a bit like an iphone but it uses java and Edge. Any ideas if I can get something for my phone. An application would be fantastic.

    At the moment we have:

m.qype.co.uk - lightweight site for any mobile
i.qype.co.uk - iPhone formatted site (but that might work on your LG, let me know)

Plus the apps for iPhone and Android/G1. No real plans to do a java app as they are quite hard to support for all the different models of phones out there, sorry about that!

    Hi Qype!
Thanks for the iPhone Application, that is a good move. What strikes me is that you do not realize the potential laying in enabling the users to enter info and evaluations on the go - within the app.
    Is that planned?
    Best,
    Pete

There will be support for writing reviews and uploading photos.

  • 29 April 2009

Great addition to the iPhone - now we can add our reviews , however .... here it comes the big but.... but how do we create an entry for a place not currently on Qype? I might be missing something - but if it isn't there - you surely have! ... with so many places still to be added, this is crucial!

and finally 5th March 2010 - the day has arrived - we can now add locations through the iPhone app. Yippee!

Yes, we are aware of this problem.

Our apologies to all our users who want to take Radar for a spin in areas with less coverage by our website. :-/ We will probably tackle this problem in future versions of Qype Radar, but I don’t yet have any details on that.

Meanwhile, we encourage you to use our website to create new places, not least because other mobile Qypers will directly benefit from that in Qype Radar, too!

    Cheers,
    Matthias

Is there any chance this will be rolled out for other phones like G1 or even better hand held computers like Archos?

  • 29 April 2009

The iPhone and Android apps are developed in parallel and are pretty much identical in terms of features. There are currently no plans to support other platforms, but of course that is not set in stone.

Top iphone app guys good work. Agree that it needs the availability to add new locations on a future version. Keep up the good work

Very disappointed to see there is no support for Windows mobile.. I have been using android version but recently upgraded my phone to HTC HD2 with windows mobile 6.5, Can't wait for windows version of qype radar.. Any idea when will it be released. or any plans for it?

@vibesnake - sorry but no plans to support WinMo right now. We will be developing the mobile site though to give decent support for most devices.

    Cheers.
