It all depends on what is appropriate for the occasion and the company. Good manners dictate that you should neither stand out for being too well-dressed nor for being so scruffy that you make those around you uncomfortable:-)

Yes, i think the environment and company dictates whether one is well dressed or not.
My hoodie, jeans and converse would be frowned upon at the jockey club but praised at the skate park….

exactly, mr hunter. my leather studded undies were welcomed at Torture Garden, but the unfortunate talking point of my nephew’s first communion…
