Good morning ladies and gentlemen of the Great Wahaca Feast,
Now we've all had the benefit of a good night's sleep, how's your meal at Wahaca resting in your memory? I'm pretty sure we all enjoyed it incredibly, so now's the time to pick through the detail.
What did YOU think of the controversial cabbage in the burrito? Was there enough chilli floating around? Will you be scouring the fields of Britain in search of the magical corn fungus, or trying to find a vat of black bean soup to jump in? Did you, like me, wake up thinking that yes, another tequila would be all right?
Drop your thoughts in here - remember those great folk at Wahaca really want to hear!

The best thing for me was that I tried loads of different dishes that I'd never usually have ordered - I wouldn't have thought to try the black bean soup, but it was really tasty. I enjoyed the food quite a lot considering I'm a massive carnivore and there didn't seem to be much meat. I wasnt mad about the baked pollock though, it seemed a little bland and dull in comparison to the other exciting stuff.

My faves were the smoked herring (but I could see how that wouldn't be for everyone) and the Baja California fish tacos (which I can't imagine anyone resisting!).
Personally, I like the cabbage on the burrito but must admit it wasn't my favourite and there would be a lot of things I'd order for before that item.
Big thanks to Tomasina, Mark and Cecilia and the waiters for being so gracious and generous!!!
**If anybody blogs about it or has shots up online, please post your links here: I won't be able to blog about this wonderful event until after the weekend. It would be great to link to your stuff in my post!!!**

the whole evening was so enjoyable. highlights for me: smoked herring tostada (love that they're msc certified too). totally awesome fish tacos. the winter spelt salad has inspired me to make something similar tonight. loved the colours and textures in that salad A LOT (how do you get those ancho chilies like that? are they grilled?).
special glass of horchatatrio of tequilas in beautiful bottles
i like the huitacoche quesadilla and the black bean soup. the burrito was ok but by that time i was already bursting...and i too like cabbage in it.
will write up my thoughts more coherently over the weekend on our blog.
and....i thought the wait staff were really friendly and they made the whole evening flow great -- it felt like one big happy family celebration.

A top night out- lots of new food for me and a few new faves! Really enjoying the complete lack of hangover today! Would normally get one on a 'school night' drinking like that so the tequila is now definitely in my good books. Will write a full review when I get a chance but great to chat with Mark and Tommi about their food- just added so much hearing about their passion for it all... and great company from fellow Qypers- really enjoyed meeting everyone. Thanks for a cracking Thursday night :-)

Another vote for the smoked herring. I also really liked the mole enchiladas, and the spelt salad. Our black bean soup was too peppery, but I loved having all the "bits" in the bottom with the soup on top. I was a massive fan of the corn fungus quesadilla, and would have demanded more if I hadn't been in danger of an exploding stomach!
I was really impressed by the deep frying, there were quite a few fried things on the menu and they were so crispy and non-greasy - the fish tacos were the perfect example! The churros were pretty fab too.
