Highlights: huitacoche quesadilla and the black bean soup. Actually the ultimate highlight was the huitacoche quesadilla dipped in the black bean soup. Loved the "what's underneath/what's in this" exploration game with the furza (sp?) salad and the black bean soup. I was even converted by the third type of tequilla (no, not a result of drinking copious amounts of the previous two) and it was great to hear how excited the owners are about sharing their passion for Mexican food.
My least favourite was the pollock - not that it wasn't tasty but as Tommi said, it's a more European flavour. Also not a fan of the sauerkraut in the burrito but I expect Mark was completely right when he said it goes better with the meat burritos.
Pork pibil was fab too - my Mexican friend says that it's the best in London and she's very fussy!
Simon's suggestion of having a tasting menu available in the restaurants is a great one - loved being able to try so many different dishes. And yes, it turns out there's always room for churros.

Here you go: my write up on our fantastic winter-warming evening at Wahaca, now that the leaves are turning and the wind is whipping up outside. Good timing for this event, I'd say!

I will be DEFINITELY heading back for the corn mushroom quesadilla goodness, the black bean soup (then again, I've always loved black bean soup) and the fish tacos were a pleasant surprise.

Oooh, and the pollock. The pork pibils - from memory I think that was Johnny Depp's dish of choice in Once Upon A Time In Mexico - and definitely the best.

But I am not touching tequila again. Patently, one sip is enough to send my head into a coma... and I'd love to know how the owners of Wahaca are so darned skinny. Must learn portion control...

I put my faves in my review, but I went back last night to have more pork tacos and the huitacoche quesadillas covered in salsa verde. I'm simple when it comes to what I want from my street food and cravings. I also had a margarita this time. I had the .. um ... forgot the name, but it has triple sec in it and it was good. It was still busy and the staff was still great - so it's nice to see that the quality and care was still good when not being catered to by the owners, and PR rep.

Hey, that's great stuff. I'm still thinking about the quesadillas. Tried to recreate Baja California tacos last night when I accidentally happened upon a recipe. They were good. But nowhere near as good as Wahaca's, sigh
