Notting Hill Carnival

Notting Hill Carnival

Any fans of London's Notting Hill Carnival in the house? Let's talk about our favorite carnival songs, sound systems, foods, drinks, views, personal encounters, etc. we had at Notting Hill Carnival! And let's try to explain to fellow Qypers who never experienced NHC why they should check it out this year (from Sunday, August 24, to Monday, August 25, 2008 ... ;-) There also is a German group about Notting Hill Carnival: http://www.qype.com/groups/933-Qyper-Treffen-beim-Notting-Hill-Carnival-2008 Short: http://tinyurl.com/4tbx5j

What do you personally feel about NHC is it still as hot as it used to be?

Personally I’d say yh it’s still a gd place to go and have a gd time but one can’t be blind to the fact that now it’s a fight ting and the pettyiness and the stupidness thats getting out of hand and people getting hurt or worse. You a female and you say no 2 shaking your a** till it hit the floor expect some kind of confrontation don’t stand in shock expect it coz as soon as your up in there respecting a woman and the fact that she don’t wana dance seems to be that liitle bit to much to ask of today. Used to be a time where you could go have pure joke a good time to with a drink in your hand now you can still do that… just watch yourself, don’t go by yourself.

I think its actually still quite good to participate provided you do it in moderation.Being in a huge crowd is never a good thing as anything can happen but I think if you stick to certain types of roads or areas you can still have some fun.

Last year has only been my second time at NHC. I found it surprisingly peaceful, considering the masses of people and the huge amounts of alcohol consumed by them.
