Yeah!!!...It’s got to be “Snake and Pygmy”...Round..Hot..with short-crust pastry….not OTT with the gravy inside….chunky well cooked meat.. and plenty ‘HP’ sauce….(If you’ve got that you don’t really care what else youv’e got with it)......except the knowledge that there is another one somewhere!!!

Don’t know if you have ever tried em!!....but next to the great “Snake & Pygmy”..I go for the original “Scotch Mutton Pie”..not these plastic things they push out of the supermarkets, but the real thing…..from a proper Scots bakery…..they are to die for…...quite often nip over the border for half dozen of em, now and again…........only gets you going, and then you want more!!!!

Siany mentioned missing Goddards - the classic London pie shop. I think Deptford High Street still has a branch. It certainly did when I was last there in May 2008. So, even though the one in Greenwich has gone, Goddards remains true to its customers by supplying Deptfordians classic London style pies. Long live Goddards!

Mine is Steak and Ale pie. yum. So much so, that I even made a How To Make A Steak Pie Video: http://www.winegifts4u.co.uk/wine-tv/wine-tv-videos/how-t... !
When it comes to sweet pies, sweet cherry pie with vanilla custard work pretty well together!
