Places Categorised

Just noticed that my number of places categorised has stayed at 468 even though I categorised two or three tonight. I’m wondering why that total hasn’t changed (and if some of the others haven’t shown up in the past either). Do they take a day or two to appear?

I have now categorised a few more places but the number shown on my profile remains at 468. It has presumably been stuck at this for ages :-((

It’s amazing that my total of places categorised is still stuck at 469 seven months later, despite having categorised large amounts of places during that time (not to mention all those I did last year which never showed up). This is very disappointing. Is there any way this can be rectified?

Hi Jane,
Everything is great, keep forgetting it’s a bank holiday weekend coming up. How are you?
Our tech team have come back and they want to make sure they’ve covered all eventualities, so they’ve asked me to check whether you’re making categorisation requests rather than actual categorisations? If you have then the count won’t be going up.
Sorry if it’s an obvious question!

Hi Bex,
I’m not sure I understand – I don’t know what a “categorisation request” entails. What I have done, many hundreds of times, (and continue to do!) is to choose (from the drop down menus) a category for a place, like Arts & Entertainment – Memorials; or Transportation – Parking, or Shopping – Ladies Fashion etc. I always make sure I do that before I add something new to Qype – and I’m adding new businesses or arts, etc, to Qype all the time!
For example, you can look at a recent review of mine – St Marnock Street Car Park, Kilmarnock – and I categorised it under ‘parking’.
Hope that answers the question and that this can be cleared up soon!!

Hi Jane,
Thanks very much for you response, I’ve popped it over to our tech guys and hopefully we should hear back soon.
I had a lovely bank holiday, full of Birthday’s, Christenings and Weddings (none of them mine – lol) and painting too!
