Hello :) Ah if only I had discovered this earlier! Myself and my OH got cheap flights so decided to come and visit (id previously only been to monkeyworld and Bath in 1979!!). I loved the little towns of Dorset but was disappointed with Bournemouth. Are there any quirky places to go to that make Bournemouth a place for me to go back to?

I’m not a fan of Bournemouth myself - too many drunks. Poole is fun and lots of great pubs in the country….

Ladies, although I have not been back to my old stomping ground in a while,I trained in Bournemouth in the 80’s and it was a sedate seaside resort then which was just beginning to push itself as a younger resort.
I take it from your comments that it now suffers in much the same way as Newquay and my beloved Torquay from the Wayne and Waynetta brigade pre-wedding and couldn’t afford Prague or Ibiza!
Shame,I am bringing my beloved down there to a uni-reunion in October and staying at the Roundhouse Hotel.

I’ve gotta go to BM monthly for work and thought I’d check out this site for inside info. Findings: pretty much zero! What’s all this lollollol stuff - does it have some special meaning for locals?
