Are there any decent Estate Agents in London?

A good, non-slimy, knowledgeable Estate Agent who’s guaranteed not to rip you off…does such a thing exist in London?

My other half wants to go with Foxtons because he’s heard they’re pretty aggressive and ‘get the job done’ but I’d really rather not give them my money!

Help me Qype…you’re my only hope :)

I would avoid foxtons at all costs. I’ve had a couple bad experiences with them. Why not try buying direct? This is becoming pretty popular on Gumtree. It saves all the hassle of dealing with slime balls. I guess you need to know what you are doing though….

i agree- it would also be cheaper. just watch the scammers though

Indeed. Foxtons just wouldn’t leave me alone for ages after i’d rented (with someone else) and they kept contacting me about mortgages (did i mention i was renting?) refused to get off the phone, and the flats they offered me weren’t even in the town I had told them I wanted to live in!!!
    There’s even a website: http://www.wehatefoxtons.com !!!
