I need some new, challenging, and exciting experiences in my life so I have decided to pick up my life and turn it upside down! I have a master’s degree in education and want to make the move from the US to the UK. I have heard so many great things about London, that I’m ready to move tomorrow!! But…I have no clue what to do. So I ask, has anyone been in a similar situation?
I definitely need to introduce you to my Brother and Sister in Law. They moved from California to London very recently and i’m sure can share some pearls of wisdom. I’ll make sure they comment on this thread.
As my brother mentioned, we just moved here from California. My wife is a total expert on how to go through the Visa process, etc. It was a little different for us as I’m a UK citizen (she’s not) but she’s become very knowledgeable on the subject.
Send me a PM or email and I can hopefully answer some questions for you.
BTW, where in the US are you?
I am living in Arkansas now and am really excited about moving! Thank you so much for responding! I was getting so discouraged last night because of the visa thing…now I know why there are so many illegal immagrants where I am from! I teach in a primarily hispanic school and it’s very difficult for them. Anyway, I was looking at a 2-year british holiday visa and that seems like the only one that would work. Does you wife have an idea of the costs of the visas and how long it usually takes? SInce I would only want to live in London for a year or so…do I need a visa?
If you want to work, you will need a working visa which i understand can take some time to get. Do you know Alex?
