We were travelling from Normandy down into Western Brittany when we found this excellent restaurant. I believe it is run by a husband and wife team who made us both feel very welcome, including our small pet dog. The food was superb, and such is the layout of the restaurant we felt they were cooking just for us. I can recommend this restaurant to anyone down this way, in the future we will plan our journey around stopping here for lunch, we liked it that much! Its welcoming, clean, the food is good and it's not expensive, what more can you ask for?

Excellent. Steak was great and €27 Menu price for 3 courses is good value. Atmosphere was warm and cosy, staff were friendly, service was good and food was very preapred to very high standard. It's not cheap but it's worth the price.

Ate in the restaurant without staying in the hotel and the food and service were excellent. Definitely recommended and at just over 30 euros a head, well worth it.

Friendly and helpful proprietors and staff. Extensive menu. Excellent cuisine. Good cave. Great value. I recently took a work colleague there for dinner. He suffers one food type allergy and I another. Embarrassing but a fact of life that neither of us can ignore (well if we do we risk dying and pretty quickly too!). The staff took us seriously (regrettably in some restaurants that is not always the case!). They listened attentively and provided exactly what we asked. We hadn't booked but I had the impression it might be wise next time. The place was packed with happy diners. Deservedly so.

Simply the best. Polite, cheerful and efficient service. Cuisine beyond compare and a cave to die for. Not inexpensive but the best seldom is. Worth every centime. Not to be missed. Book well in advance though. le Bistrot du Viaduc is well supported. Particularly by well informed locals. NB Try the Chateaubriand!

The slovenliness of the staff, the over priced and over rated food are what many would seize upon to give France its undeserved reputation for poor service. On our first visit we might have thought better of the food had it actually been what we had ordered! The response? “Too late to prepare anything else now.”! Determined though to discover the reason for their good reputation my wife and I have tried le Cottage three more times. Our level of disappointment has only increased each time. On the last occasion a large, extremely loud and uncouth group of ‘trippers’ from the Channel Islands from boats berthed in the harbour were creating havoc on the first floor. Although we were downstairs we could barely hear ourselves talk. We discreetly asked the proprietress if it might be possible for her to ask the revellers if they could at least curb some of the more vile of their language. Particularly as there were children present and whom clearly understood every word. Her reply? “They’re very good customers.”! Well we won’t ever be any sort of customers again and would recommend everyone else gives le Cottage a wide berth too. With any luck and hopefully one day soon, someone else might take over and make better use of le Cottage’s prime position.

Excellent! My wife, who is Singaporean (I am an English Francophile) and our German friends visited Capriccio one Saturday evening this summer (2011). Artichoke and pickled peppers entrée followed by Veal, with pasta and cheese sauce. That's what I ordered anyway. I was so impressed with both courses that I scarcely noticed what my friends ordered. I know though they were all happy. Quantity was as I prefer. Not too much on the plate whereby you end up struggling to finish. The meal was beautifully presented and served by cheerful and efficient staff. The proprietress (I believe is actually Spanish not Italian) politely checked a couple of times to ensure our satisfaction. A good quality Soave served at exactly the right temperature. Astonishingly the four of us ate and drank well for under a 100 Euros, including what we considered to be the correct and courteous tip. I could not understand why the place wasn't packed. It deserves to be. Highly recommend.
