When I was in China ten years ago on an organised Charity Trek we had a number of meals that consisted of food I was not familiar with which is a bit scarey but one thing that I have since seen on the great british menu is tripe and I think that was the mystery ingredient as it was white and chewy (maybe not such a fussy eater after all or was it desperate measures !
