Inbal Jerusalem Hotel (Jerusalem, by daVinci777)

5 Points out of 5

probably one of the best Hotels in Jerusalem. Its central location and its beautiful five star luxury envoirement and architecture make this Hotel a real inside tip.

The rooms are superiour and do have everything you need and want. Free Wifi on the rooms is standard. The service and personal is friendly and helpful at all times. The bar and restaurant areas are great and delicious. In sommer times you can eat outside in the courtyard, which is beautiful.

In the evenings a lot of non-guests are gathering in the Hotel lobby to have a chat, meet with friends, having a drink. Its a wonderful atmosphere, very fresh and very comfortable. Its fantastic to sit there for hours, drinking, dining and meeting with friends.

I havent been to the King David yet, but for me, the Inbal is the best Hotel in Jerusalem. They are rated Nr. 1 in Israel even and Nr. 4 in the whole middle east!

Best budget place in Tel Aviv with stunning views from the rooftop terrace, especially in the evening. Small but beautiful and individual rooms. The ones with windows to the stairs can be noisy if it’s crowded.

Excellent fresh food, great coffee and wonderful view on the nicely renovated part of the German Colony and the Bahai garden. If you come for tourism, come here for a lunch break, sit outside in the shade of the trees and enjoy the view. For sunset I’d rather recommend a cocktail bar at the endless beach.

Port Inn (Haifa, by eatandcry)

4 Points out of 5

Port Inn is a hostel right in downtown Haifa. While many places that offer budget accommodation are rather shabby and run down, this is not the case with Port Inn. The hostel is located in an old Arab house and offers nice dorms and double rooms. There’s also a cosy “lobby” and a nice garden. Staff was very nice and helpful, they also handed out free maps of Haifa and provided useful tourist information. That’s basically it.

But the best part is actually the location, right in between downtown Haifa and the German Colony. Haifa HaShmona Central train station is just around the corner, as is the terminus of Haifa’s Carmelit subway. All major tourist attractions are either reachable by foot or by public transport (for the top of Carmel mountain and Bahai Gardens use the Carmelit, to reach Hof HaCarmel Beach take the train).

While downtown Haifa isn’t really exciting, there are some decent bars nearby, as well as a 24h supermarket and kiosks. On the plus side, it wasn’t too loud at night, despite being located close to the port and a major thoroughfare.

4 Points out of 5

This is one of the better brewpubs in Israel. The owner, Jem, was born in the US – he studied brewing at UC Davis and at the Siebel Institue in Chicago. Beers include a strong Belgian style ale (8.8), several american style ales (of which the Amber Ale was my favorite) and a rather hoppy lager.
