Klettur - Reykjavík
Mjölnisholt 12-14
Reykjavík
A very nice hotel, clean and modern. Helpful and friendly staff. Very cosy covers on the beds that kept us warm :) The disappointing thing was the absence of WiFi in the room. Another issue for me was the absence of tea/coffee making facilities in the room which would be helpful for the cold Icelandic nights. (annamatikyan, 22-01-2012)

Heaven on Earth! Swimming in the hot blue water surrounded by white crispy snow was unforgettable! Very quiet relaxing atmosphere. They have a good restaurant there, too! (annamatikyan, 22-01-2012)

A curious way of learning about the history of Iceland! The audio guide was a big help. (annamatikyan, 22-01-2012)

A cosy place with friendly staff. They offer several types of fish and a various sides and sauces. The fish was fresh and tasty! Open for lunch unlike some of the other places in the area. (annamatikyan, 22-01-2012)

Fishmarket - Reykjavík
Aðalstræti 12

An expensive place, but so worth it! The tasting menu of 9 courses was truly the best thing I've ever had! Amazing cuisine where Iceland meets Asia! My taste buds are still trembling! (annamatikyan, 22-01-2012)

Tiu dropar - Reykjavík

Nice and cosy place, good lunch and breakfast. Free WiFi, sometimes a bit unstable connection. (Monty78, 15-01-2011)

Thai Reykjavik - Reykjavík
Lækjargata 8
101 Reykjavík
Very good authentic Thai food, fresh clean tasting and nicely presented. Good value for Iceland. Loses a star for the waitress who didn't really know what the menu was about but recommended. Free and pretty fast Wifi here and doubles as a bar with the usual gassy Icelandic beer but no Thai beers. Near the town centre too! (Second Helping, 09-11-2011)

Keflavík International Airport - Reykjavík
Reykjavík
Icelanders love to travel and they always come home. Keflavik is stuck out about 40 miles from the centre of Reykjavik and now that it's finished is a lovely airport with a great design. Because flights aren't all that regular, it gets busy early in the morning and at certain times, but the flow isn't too bad and security does a good job for departing travellers. The big tip is to buy your booze when you arrive at Reykjavik. Although not as bad as it used to be, alcohol is still very expensive in Iceland and you can't buy wine in a supermarket. So get it at the duty free on arrival and stock up for your stay. Also don't forget that you can get around 20% back on your purchases in the city by collecting your receipts and filling out a form at the airport. You get cash back and I strongly suggest buying some Icelandic lamb in the shop. Best in the world!! (Second Helping, 28-10-2011)
