On Qype anyone can introduce or review service providers, shops, businesses and other public places and suppliers across Europe. And at the same time get to know nice people who share similar interests and, incredible, live just around the corner.

A very nice hotel, clean and modern. Helpful and friendly staff.
Very cosy covers on the beds that kept us warm :)
The disappointing thing was the absence of WiFi in the room. Another issue for me was the absence of tea/coffee making facilities in the room which would be helpful for the cold Icelandic nights.

WE LOVED this little coffee shop in Reykjavik. It is very cozy and the owners are so friendly. The coffee was good and the food is delicious. We had the French Meat soup with bread and coffee and it was sooooo yummy! We ate there twice while in Iceland for our honeymoon. I highly recommend this coffee shop for a cozy lunch.

Very good authentic Thai food, fresh clean tasting and nicely presented.

Good value for Iceland. Loses a star for the waitress who didn’t really know what the menu was about but recommended.

Free and pretty fast Wifi here and doubles as a bar with the usual gassy Icelandic beer but no Thai beers.

Near the town centre too!

Keflavík International Airport (Reykjavík, by Second Helping)

3 Points out of 5

Icelanders love to travel and they always come home. Keflavik is stuck out about 40 miles from the centre of Reykjavik and now that it’s finished is a lovely airport with a great design.

Because flights aren’t all that regular, it gets busy early in the morning and at certain times, but the flow isn’t too bad and security does a good job for departing travellers.

The big tip is to buy your booze when you arrive at Reykjavik. Although not as bad as it used to be, alcohol is still very expensive in Iceland and you can’t buy wine in a supermarket. So get it at the duty free on arrival and stock up for your stay.

Also don’t forget that you can get around 20% back on your purchases in the city by collecting your receipts and filling out a form at the airport. You get cash back and I strongly suggest buying some Icelandic lamb in the shop. Best in the world!!

5 Points out of 5

Fantastic hotel located in Reykjavik, with a 20 minute walk to the city centre and bars. It looks a bit like a school from the outside… but don’t be fooled, inside its gorgeous. Its modern and very attractive. Rooms are lovely with good beds, sofas, tv’s and shower facitilities are great. The staff are friendly and helpful. Food is fantastic! Very ‘posh’ as some people would call it, but I like it although it may be too fussy for some people but delicious all the same. Great hotel restaraunt and bar. Great breakfast on offer in the morning from 4am just in case you have an early flight!

Its situated at a small airport in Reykjavik but you barely even notice that fact unless you look out of the window, you can even hear planes taking off!

I loved this place and will definately be going back. And next time ill make use of the pool, jacuzzi and gym…
