Yes, the ale is cheap. Yes, they have some guests. Yes, the clientèle are an amusing mix of chavs and alcoholics - which makes for fun chat! But, it's...” more...

Phil Chambers wrote on 15-11-2007 “The Earl is a pretty good drinking establishment in Notting Hill - and probably the cheapest one at that, being as it is, Samuel Smiths. I like the interior... pokey corners, wood paneling... open fires. It's also quite big. Sadly they don't have any hand pumped ales here, which is a real shame, as...” more...

Slightly hidden in the mews, you won't stumble across it unless you know, which means the crowd is locals, lecturers, and students. Ha ha. Go on then Phil. I imagine St. Thomas' in Waterloo or the Royal London in Whitechapel are our best bets :)

Great idea, but has anyone looked into the logistics? Some of the pubs are a bit further away. And I want a unifying theme!

  • 15 November 2007

Indeed. The maps not really looking like the horse shoe that big man required. We seem to have decent cluster in the Holborn area with a south ken splinter cell.

  • 15 November 2007

Hey - it's barely finished guys - it will all make sense I assure you... :)

The unifying theme is Christmas guys!

Just add on pubs along the way in between holborn and the outliers, 11 is clearly too few anyway. And I think you should select pubs on the basis of the pubs marked on the map forming the shape of santa claus. then even aliens flying past in their UFOs would know there was a christmas pub crawl happening

  • 15 November 2007

Presumably they wouldn't be UFOs to the aliens? Since they know what they are...

    Good idea though!

    Clever. Hadn't thought of that.
