Düsseldorf Restaurants & Cafe's for beginners
This is not a guide to German food.
I would say it is a list to look when you don't know the city at all or you are looking something new, but you don't want to go randomly just some place.
It is a small list of some restaurants that I have personally tried over my years in Düsseldorf, and what I have found worth to mention.
I try to keep the list wide...something for everyone !

Mangold is near the appartment where I used to live earlier. They have OK food with reasonable price. Evenings and weekends it might be sometimes full after 20:00.
El’Ömmes is one of my favorite tapas restaurant, evenings you will almost 100% probability need a reservation. There are other good places also, like “Cala D’or” that you might want to try.
Tulip Inn hotel near Düsseldorf football arena has excellent Sunday brunch with live music, TRY IT !
I was never a sushi fan…until…I visited Okinii…they buffet style lunch or dinner, offer anyone a nice possibility to try sushi. Other recent finding on sushi area for me is “Oishii sushi & more”, but it is little out of the city center.
Tang Wang is so far the most authentic and original Chinese food place I have eaten Chinese food outside of Asia….but on this area, I keep still looking. Meanwhile have a try !
There are many coffee places in the city, I have perhaps not yet found my favorite. I must also admit,that I go many times just to Starbucks. But this little place (Röstzeit) I like, and try to visit it when ever I happen to be near by. Their are also roasting some of the coffee themselves.
