This is a really superb nightclub. If you happen to be in Riga and feeling bored, this place will help your boredom fade away! Bar prices are reasonable, considering this place is located in hearth of old Riga.

On my recent trip to Riga, Latvia I chose to stay at the Radisson BLU Elizabete Riga hotel. I am a fan of Radisson BLU hotels, and Radisson has four Riga hotels to choose from, all with great locations. I picked the Radisson BLU Elizabete for it’s, modern feel and easy access.
The Radisson BLU Elizabete Riga hotel is located a 10 minute walk from the old town through the park across from the hotel (the park where you will find the fantastic resturant Biblioteka N°1), and about 15 minutes from the main bus/train station. The staff are efficient and get the job done well, there is a lack of warmth but anyone who has been to the more eastern parts of Europe will be familiar with this.
I stayed in a business class room which has the same layout as the standard room, it is a good size room with all the conveniences expected of a modern hotel room such as full-size mirrors, flat screen TV, free wifi, good lighting, as well as thoughtful designs features such a place for your luggage in a handy spot between the bathroom area and bedroom allowing for access from both, a comfortable work space, and adjustable bedside lights. The business class room comes with upgrades such as bathrobes, slippers, a Nespresso machine, and includes breakfast. The room was comfortable, quite, and the heating/cooling system worked well without being too loud.
The breakfast is served in the Restaurant C.U.T which is a bright stylish room. Breakfast is well stocked with lots of variety, cereal, bread, toast, lots of pastries, fruit, yogurt, meat and cheese, as well as a good selection of hot items. There should be no problem for anyone to find something to fill up on at the Radisson Blue Elizabete breakfast. The items were kept well stocked and the tables and food areas were kept immaculately tidy as people came and went.
When it came time to depart I was sad to leave the comfort of my room, and check out like check in was done easily and quickly. I wouldn’t hesitate recommending the Radisson BLU Elizabete hotel to anyone heading to Riga it is a great hotel, spotless, modern, comfortable and a great place to come back to after a day of business or sightseeing and relax.

4 and a half years later I'm still lusting after the hot chocolate I had in this place. It's a chain but one of those ones where you know it's going to be special before you even walk in because it constantly seems to be full of people all having the same thing - a tiny doll-size cup of the thickest, most decadent hot chocolate you've ever tasted. The hot chocolate is served with a glass of water and, believe me, you need it. It tastes like they found the most amazing bar of chocolate in the world and melted it into this cup.
Happiness in a cup.
Yum.

Café Kukotava was my best culinary experience in Riga. Situated in one of the most beautiful quarters of Riga, the New Town, it is a very good location for later breakfast, lunch, snack or coffee time. The homemade bread is crunchy and tasty, the choice of bakery and cakes is amazing and the chocolate just seductive. They offer a wide range of drinks - I liked the freshly squeezed juice. The atmosphere of the cafe is friendly and cosy.

The staff were welcoming. The food I ordered tasted great, and I enjoyed my cappuccino with whip cream.
Sweetday Cafe has varied menu, lovely surrondings, on a nice quiet street, fantastic presentation, and even a really nice loo! A truly deserved 5 stars.
I will be sure to go back if I am ever so lucky to end up in Riga again.

my apartment was in the earth of the old town, cheap prize for a completely renovated house, very clean and comfortable.
P.S the have many apartments in old town, so I'm just talking of my experience, by the way before my accommodation they have ask by email my needs that was in fact a house recent renovated and if not with lift,in a low floor; I did find exactly that.

Nice design-café, recently opened in spring 2011.
KAFĒRĪGA is to be found in an old, restored merchant's house in the Old Town of Cesis, right next to Rose Square. It is managed by a couple of nice, open-minded young people and serves some highlights:
> refreshing, home-made ice-tea: black tea, grenadine, lemon, brown sugar
> traditional Latvian food, prepared and served in modern style (potatoes, meat, egg dishes, sorrel soup,...)
> delicious, home-made cookies and cakes
You will find a couple of tables outside, on Rose Sqare.
There are nice tables and seats inside, as well:
The mixture of Modern Nordic design and some ancient, well-restored furniture is definitely a highlight. Nice spot to relax during a shopping or culture trip in Downtown Cesis. Been there twice, excellent both times! Moderate prices.
Cesis is absolutely worth a visit: Medieval town some 90 km from Riga, several castles and expanded, well-kept parks, old centre with restored merchants' houses (not all, yet - but there is development), market place offering local products (especially flowers), small shops, and churches.

If you are looking for a hotel directly in the city centre, do NOT choose this one. It is a 20 minutes walk or three stops via tram to the old city / town square of Riga. When we checked in at the hotel we got a very tiny room on 4th floor that wasn't perfectly clean. The mini bar was empty, the air condition right in front of our window (loud!!). The next day we complained and got an upgrade (that we had to pay for) to a bigger room on the 7th floor with a nice view and a bathtub. That room was okay. The breakfast buffet offers a large variety but does not come up to German expecations. The breakfast room is quite uncomfortable, more like a mensa. We did not try wellness, bar or restaurant because we did not expect them to be very good considering the hotel rooms and the service. The general manager we talked to about the upgrade was quite unfriendly. I cannot recommend this hotel and would never book it again. You cannot compare Maritim Park Hotel Riga to German Maritim Hotels in Bremen or Timmendorf which are extremely nice.
