Casa de los Azulejos (Sanborns) (Mexico City, by bsathushdotcom)

1 Points out of 5

WARNING – FOOD POISONING!!!

I had chicken at this restaurant and about 2 hours after dinner I got violently ill with severe vomiting, diarrhea, dizziness and stomach pains. This was no ordinary tourist diarrhea, but 100% food poisoning. The chicken did not taste all that great either, but I was starving so I ate it. I honestly thought that i was going to die in Mexico City, but I did not. I got strong antibiotics and i could go outside 3 days later, 90% recovered. I went back to Casa de los Azulejos and talked to the Manager of the restaurant. I showed him the antibiotics and explained what had happened to me (I speak nearly perfect Spanish). He refused to believe that I had gotten ill at his restaurant and looked at me as if I were a liar. He said that if you had vomited while in the restaurant we would not have charged you for dinner and paid for your medical expenses. This was a ridiculous answer since anyone in the restaurant business knows that you do not get ill immediately when eating bad food – it takes at least an hour, usually more, before you start vomiting. With such a policy, naturally, Sanborns will never have to pay for any food poisoning cases since the guests will almost always leave the restaurant before turning ill. I was not offered any compensation whatsoever, on the contrary, I was treated like a liar. Shame on this Restaurant! bs@hush.com

This is quite an insiders’ tip: The meal was excellent and the whole restaurant has a typical mexican atmosphere. We had steaks and the were all like heaven (and not that expensive). I would go there every day, if I could. I think reserving a table is always a very good idea.

5 Points out of 5

Cafe Plaza is an unique place to have breakfast, lunch and or dinner. Doors are open from 7:30 am untill 4:00pm Mon – Fri and 8:00am untill 3:00pm on Saturdays.

There is always a pleasent and friendly atmosphere in Cafe Plaza and the food is amazing.

Here breakfast is served throughout the whole day as well as the more traditional dishes such as Cottage Pie and Fish and Chips, as well as a whole range of other foods.

It is a great place to cure a hangover or even just to start your hectic day. It’s also ideal for mums (or dads) to meet for a natter over a cup of tea and slice of cake once the kids are dropped off at school and also to take the kids for dinner once you have picked them up.

Cafe Plaza has a clean and well presented environment where you can save on cooking time and washing up, as there it is all done for you.

Pop down and have a look – I assure you you will be pleasently surprised!! :-)

Very nice club and location, the prices are on an european level, so if you want to go out in mxc this is definately a place that you should check. The door is pretty strict so make sure to get on the guest list. Unfortunately there is no real dancefloor so you have to dance between all the lounges but its still fine.

This hotel is Fantastic if you go to cancun do book this hotel went with the mrs on a all inclusive package which was the best thing ever.
The hotel sorted out excursions from snorkeling to booze cruises and swimming with the dolphins which i loved.
On site at the hotel i like the fact that they had variations of restaurants from Italian, Chinese, Indian along with BBQ steaks, also with the breakfast in the morning was fantastic as you got your breakfast cooked fresh infront of you with a wide variation of fresh fruit on offer from water melon to strawberry’s which i loved.

Also i loved the fact that not only they had great hospitality and nice food, they also organised 2 mini bus’s to take you to the night ckubs which was $30 dollars which covered your journey to the club, que jump and entry ans free drinks till a 1am.
so its a definate must go to if you ever are thinking of going to mexico, cancun.

It’s so hard to find a good Caribbean restaurant and take away in Cardiff. So many have disappointed. When comparing to mums food, standards are high! But the Rocking Chair has never failed to deliver. The ackee and salt fish is divine! Lamb curry, rice and pease immense! Jerk chicken… Lush… Service is always on form. This truly is the best Caribbean Cardiff has ever had. My weekly take away treat for sure!

This place is gorgeous. We spent quite a while snorkelling, watching beautiful fish swim amongst us, while feeling safe from the tides in the calm inlet. We also did a sea trek, which was really exciting & is something I can now tick off my once in a lifetime list. As is the other activity we did- swimming with manatees! They were such lovely calm creatures, but so strong they push you over without meaning to! We fed them cabbages, which they ate whole & the guide told us how to tell the difference between sexes, as well as other interesting facts. Overall, Xel Ha is well worth a visit, but probably not if you can’t swim!

5 Points out of 5

Wonderfully interesting ruins in a beautiful setting. The ruins are made up of several buildings, scattered across a cliff top. The building highlight the intelligence of the ancient Mayan culture, showing their knowledge of astronomy and the effects of the sun. There are even some painting preserved. We had a guide whilst viewing the ruins who taught us a great deal about Mayan culture, including numbers and calendar organisation. The ruins themselves are a fascinating work of man, and the beach at the bottom of the cliff (reached via some fairly steep steps) is a beautiful work of nature. Overall, Tulum is well worth a visit.
