South Bank - South Bank
63 West Smithfield, Southbank, London EC1A 9DY
05-06-2009
I’m still a stalwart fan of North London over South London but the Soouth Bank is certainly doing its best to swing me the other way. There are so many great things about it that I really can’t go into specifics. My advice to you is to head down and see for yourself.!
Kew Gardens - Kew
Kew, London TW9 3AB
05-06-2009
As a village liver i’ve seen some nice gardens but nothing quite like kew, it really is amazingly beautiful and I have no qualms about admitting that. Very good place to chill out!
Big Ben - Westminster
House of Commons, 24 Maiden Ln, London WC2E 7JS
05-06-2009
Ding Dong Ding Dong Ding Dong! IF you haven’t seen Big Ben then you haven’t lived, nowi’m no clock enthusiast but the craftsmanship that went into this one is outstanding. See it, believe it, set your watch by it!
Tower Bridge - Bermondsey
Southwark, London SE1 2UP
05-06-2009
Tower Bridge is a bridge like no other, the views you can see from here are absolutely breathtaking. Check it out!
Sweet Sensations Kiosk - Fitzrovia
1 Great Castle Street, London W1W 8LS
05-06-2009
This place is a real saviour for everyone at Qype and Pete (the guy who runs the stall) is an absolute hero! It’s been closed for the last couple of weeks so i’ve had to walk accross the street for my can of sprite, I just hope he comes back soon or I might get hit by a car.
Vapiano - Fitzrovia
19-21 Great Portland Street, London W1W 8QB
05-06-2009
Vapiano has a very trusting outlook on bill paying as they operate on the basis of everyone swiping a card every time they buy something before and only paying at the end. Now, obviously I’d never dream of walking out ;-) without paying but it does strike me as likel;y that other people would.
Away from that though it is a nice restaurant/bar with good looking food (yet to try it) and well kept beer, what’s more they’ve got a couple of benches outside to watch the world go by (and inhale it too).
TK Maxx - Bedford
M Interchange Retail Park, Race Meadows Way Kempston, Bedford, Bedfordshire MK42 7AZ
05-06-2009
If the TK Maxx in the town centre was a Kit-Kat then this is the Kit-Kat Chunky! It’s just like every other TK Maxx only blown up a couple of sizes. This is great as it means there are far more bargains around but the downside is it means you have to spend ages searching through rubbish to find the steals!
Specsavers - Bedford
36 Midland Road, Bedford, Bedfordshire MK40 1PS
05-06-2009
Until a couple of months ago this was a shop that i’d merely seen (with 20:20) as I walked on by to other shops. Things took a turn for the worse though and I needed to go for an eye test which subsequently resulted in me joining the speccie masses (word up, bretherin) and I must say they’re a nice old bunch that work in here, assistants, opticians, all of em.
W H Smith - Bedford
29-31 Harpur Centre, Bedford, Bedfordshire MK40 1TG
05-06-2009
WH Smith used to be a one-stop shop for all your music, book, magazines, stationary and just about everything else but these days it’s fallen foul in just about every department thanks to the internet boom. The Music range is limited, the dvd prices are far higher than Amazon, Play.com, etc and for books your better off going to a Waterstones or a Charity Shop!
If you need a biro though, then this is the place to be!
Marks & Spencer - Bedford
1-3 Midland Road, Bedford, Bedfordshire MK40 1PL
05-06-2009
This isn’t just a shop in Bedford, this is a Marks & Spencers shop in Bedford! As much as I would love to see an advert in that enticing style about this branch I just can’t see it happening. At the end of the day it’s an M&S selling M&S stuff, now the clothes don’t really rock my socks (give it a few years) but the food on offer definately does, the BLT sandwich, Jellies, Pies and just about everything is of great quality. MMmmmmm!
