Lush - Dundee

Overgate Centre, Dundee, Scotland DD1 1UG

02-06-2009

This is a good sized branch in the overgate centre. The staff are nice and friendly and they have a good range of soaps, gifts, and face masks. I believe all of their products are vegan and they are very proud that their products and packaging don’t harm the environment. This is a great place to buy gifts for people who love a nice bath – the presents are very nicely wrapped up.

New Look - Glasgow

152 Buchanan Street, Glasgow, Scotland G1 2BB

02-06-2009

This is a large new look and I seem to be able to find something to wear for every occasion in it. They also have a good range of maternity and ‘tall’ clothes which a lot of the smaller stores don’t stock. They have a large shoe section and also sell mens and childrens clothes. The staff are helpful and friendly. I once bought a pair of jeans and foolishly took the tags off before I tried them on, they didn’t fit, I took them back and was still offered a full cash refund.

The Counting House - Glasgow

2 St. Vincent Place, Glasgow, Scotland G1 2DH

02-06-2009

This is quite a nice pub located just off George square in Glasgow. They cook quite a nice breakfast and main meals are good quality too. George square seems to be permanently surrounded by scaffolding and as such this pub seems to be permanently inhabited by builders! Its not so bad for a bit of banter at lunchtime though. The staff are friendly and service is nice and quick. Good for a pub lunch!

Primark - Dundee

40 High Street, Dundee, Scotland DD1 1TU

02-06-2009

As primark stores go this one is quite large. It is situated in the overgate centre over two floors. It has a good selection of cheap clothes and is quite well laid out. It can get very busy at Christmas though and they never seem to have enough tills open as there is always a queue.

The City Harbour Chinese Buffett Restaurant - Dundee

Unit 3-4 City Quay, Camperdown Street, Dundee, Scotland DD1 3JA

02-06-2009

This is a nice restaurant on the harbour that overlooks the water. It can get quite busy but it has a nice atmosphere and staff are pleasant. The food is replaced quite often and there is plenty of choice. They also offer soups, salad, and duck wraps – things I haven’t really seen in many buffet restaurants. Its one of my favourite places to eat in Dundee.

The Counting House - Dundee

67-71 Reform Street, Dundee, Scotland DD1 1SP

02-06-2009

This pub can get quite busy at times, recently it is a bit quieter, but there is usually a good atmosphere. It is in the centre of town and Is quite a nice place for grabbing a good quality pub lunch. They usually have special offers (like two meals for £5.99) on a good range of menu items too.

Borders Books - Dundee

Unit 7 42 East Dock Street, Dundee, Scotland DD1 3JS

02-06-2009

This is quite a big borders over two floors, it has a paperchase, a Game, and a starbucks. It isn’t too busy and the staff are quite helpful. At the beginning of term I had to source a few textbooks for university and they were able to order them in for me by the end of the week. The store has a nice atmosphere, is well laid out and it is quite easy to find books, you can either ask a member of staff or search for them on the computers yourself.

Tesco Metro - Dundee

60 Murraygate, Dundee, Scotland DD1 2BB

02-06-2009

This tesco can be a nightmare. It is right on the high street and so it doesn’t have its own car park, it really is only suited to popping in for odds and ends. It is quite well stocked and they have a good selection of pastas, fresh bread, and sandwiches but they run out very quickly at lunch time!

Jimmy Chung's - Dundee

7-9 Whitehall Street, Dundee, Scotland DD1 4AF

02-06-2009

This is a nice buffet on the high street. The food is good quality and it is usually jam packed. They have a good selection of desserts and the food is replaced quite regularly. If you go a bit earlier it isn’t as expensive but it is still good value for all you can eat.

Marmalade Pot - Dundee

Riverside Drive, Dundee, Scotland DD2 1UH

02-06-2009

I have only been here a few times and it always seems to be very empty so there was never much of an atmosphere. Having said that I have only ever been in around lunch time so maybe its better at night. The staff are attentive and friendly, in my experience food is served quickly and they have a good selection of food on their childrens menu.
