I used to be a great fan of this place. Until today, when I had the most disappointing steak and kidney pie. 5 pieces of steak in a watery gravy (even if tasty). Of course, you can't see inside the pie before you get it.
So my advice is only to buy food there that you can see.
Standards definitely have slipped.

Well located for Hampstead Heath, this has been upgraded tastefully to be a restaurant with pub attached.
Fresh ingredients and attentive service, I enjoyed my lunch of peppers stuffed with risotto.

I love this traditional pub, spruced up enough to bring it into the 21st century but still retaining its history

I was so disappointed to come and have such lousy service. They took so long to take my order that I gave up and then the staff seemed totally offhand when I complained. So I can’t even give a value for money measure!

This is a bar and restaurant attached to the Vortex Jazz Club. I really like the atmosphere, watching the people go by in Gillett Square and then be able to check out the incredible music upstairs.
Very relaxed.
