I was at this Qype event with my son and find yet again the review I wrote has disappeared.
So just a short and sweet, we both enjoyed the food, the tours of the kitchen and being shown how to prepare a few of the special dishes with tastings.
Great Qypers company as always.

Had yet another lovely meal at Christophers. Always enjoy their brunch and went for lunch.
Unfortunately there was a very loud business lunch going on with 2 men guffawing at everything which, while they were there, was not very good.
However the food was excellent and I would certainly recommend the Grilled Asparagus with Pecorino Cheese & Truffle Oil as a starter. while the Gressingham duck was pink and tender. The sweet potato mash was a perfect side order. Spent a long afternoon over coffee after the meeting crowd moved on.
Will be trying them out for dinner soon.

Had a very nice lunch here last week.
We started with Parma ham and melon, fresh and enjoyable. My partner had fillet of Cod and it was apparently extremely good. I had the Braised lamb chops with dauphinoise potatoes. The chops were perfection and the potatoes crisp topping but soft an tasty inside.
The honey and walnut cheesecake was tasty, but try to avoid the honey drizzle around the cheesecake as it is overwhelmingly sweet.
Ambience was lovely and the view of the trees and garden adds to the experience. Service was superb without being too much.
Slightly pricey though.

Being a big seafood lover we tend to end up having seafood often.
Loch Fyne has never disappointed and they have a lovely daytime special on at the moment for under £10.
The fish and seafood is always fresh, well prepared and a delight to eat. I would just prefer that every side dish is not an extra but part of the meal.
They also don’t mind if you spend hours sat there after lunch enjoying a coffee or 2.
If you join their website you get one voucher for a 2 course meal at £9.95, the same as the daytime special.

I have been outside this restaurant on many occasions and did not even notice it, I presumed it was a cafe of some sort. I have a friend visiting who recalled the good food and we decided to try it out on a Sunday evening. Unfortunately, so did a couple with a child of approximately 3 or 4, the little fellow must have been way over his bedtime as he cried and screamed the entire time we were there and the parents did nothing more than ignore him.
The menu had several fish specials that were fresh and uniquely prepared. I chose the prawn pasta which as absolutely lovely and my friend chose a Sardinian dish which she enjoyed.
My one gripe is that the prawns are not shelled, in fact the feelers had not even been removed and being the same colour as the tomato based sauce, I kept getting these in my mouth and having to remove them, not very dignified I promise. My 2nd gripe was a lack of a finger bowl or anything to wipe the hands on, apart from the one serviette with the table setting. So you are having to shell the prawns to eat them and … I presume lick you fingers clean ! I did ask and by the time I had finished my meal ( about 20 minutes later) was given a small ramekin with water in. Not ideal.
So whilst the food was most enjoyable for the most, the experience left a lot to be desired and I doubt I shall be returning soon.
Sausage Man - Lewisham

I'll just have to review the Sausage Man as well, as I bought a pack of 10 marinated steaks from him just yesterday. Always fresh, always delicious and extremely friendly service. I have been buying there for many years and never once been disappointed. Expect to pay a few pence more, but certainly worth every penny.

Andrew, have you ever wandered past Llandudno Beach to Sandy Bay ? That used to be my favourite beach as it was ever so quiet and not visited by the tourists who found the walk a bit tiring.
Andrew Hunter Ha ha. Ok, i’ll take that as a yes :)
Right - Well next time i’m in SA it’s down to Sandy Bay for the all body tan!

Anita_S The beach itself is very small due it being a rocky area, but therein lies the beauty as there are many secluded areas where you can spend all day without seeing anyone unless you actually want to. It is only really frequented by locals and as such very natural … or should that be ‘au naturelle’ :-)
