Haven’t actually visited this place, but thought I’d mention that, at this time, it is not on the web site. They are only advertising the Colchester branch.

Large pie & mash shop, green interior. The tables and chairs are one unit and bolted to the floor. The seated are wooden, so will get unconfortable if you sit too long. The staff are very friendly. The plates are large, so a single portion looks a bit lost, but there was plenty of liquer. It was very tasty.

Lots of sweets for all tastes, even diabetic sweets. Any dentists nearby must be very busy. If you visit, don’t get carried away with the choice, your bank balance will suffer as well as your teeth.

Felt a b it hungry, so popped in for a roll or baggette, I was the only one in there as I looked at the selection. Once I had chosen I turned around to pay, there was a queue leading outside the door. Luckily, I was near the front, so didn’t have to join the back. They must be doing somthing right. The staff were friendly.

This is a Wetherspoons pub, some people love them, others don’t but you have to admit they do have a good range of real ales. This is a typical Wetherspoons, with all the thin gs you expect. It is right by the market in Basildon. There never seems to be any seating outside when I visit, can’t say whether drinking outside is allowed. It get very crowded early in the day, with the older crowd, probably due to the cheap prices. The bar staff cope very well.

Had to put this under the category of Jewellery, watches & clocks, though he only deals in replacing watch straps & batteries. This is a moble stand and so doesn’t have a postcode, so I picked the nearest one. Anyway, a very pleasent chap, always smilng and helpful. Can be seen there everyday. If you need a battery, visit him first.

Nice large pub/restaurant, near to the leisure complex and north of the town centre. It's a bit of a long walk and it seemed even longer as my visit was along pavements covered in ice. Lots of parking spaces. Didn't try the food so fans of Harvester restaurants will know what is on sale. Family friendly. Comfortable seats.

Nice place, largeish place. Has seating outside, but glasses not allowed out there, so you will get plastic. Has 2 pool tables on the left side of the bar. There are 3 real ale taps, but none of them were working, I doubt whether they will. There is a raised area opposite the bar, where I think they have disco. Wheelchair accessible. Nice Christmas decorations. Car prking available.

I've not had pie & mash for a very long time, so I had to visit this place. I managed to get the last pie they had, as I think they were about to close. The service was fast and efficient and the staff were friendly. The food was excellent and it went down a treat. They have a range of choices, from 1 pie & 1 mash, 1 pie & 2 mash, 2 pies & 1 mash, 2 pies & 2 mash. I think you get the idea. They also do pre-packed pie & mash, for you to take home and cook yourself, when I say, cook yourself I don't mean you get in the oven. The place is very bright & clean with mainly white tiles around the walls. Pay a visit when you are in the area, I'm sure you will love it.

Modern built pub, the main room is divided into 2 areas, to the right, is the bar. Not very large but clean and bright, on the right is a pool table. The interior is red & cream. No real ale unless you count John Smiths Extra Cold, and I'm not sure if they serve food. The seating is comfortable with padded chairs at tables and padded stools at the bar. The seating outside is on concrete. The pub is opposite a bus stop which will take you back into Basildon Town centre.
