K Med - Marylebone

31 New Cavendish Street, London W1G 9TT

I don't use this place, but if you are in the area, look for the skeleton in the window. Might give someone a shock if they are passing late at night.

Ginger Pig - Marylebone

8-10 Moxon Street, Mayfair, London W1U 4ET

If you are ever in the area, pop in and buy one of their fantsastic pies. They do a good range, from Stake & Kidney to Chicken & Ham to Pork pie. They are 3inches high. Very tasty.

The Stags Head - Fitzrovia

102 New Cavendish Street, Marylebone, London W1W 6XW

30-01-2010

A corner pub close to the top part of Regent Street. Modern looking outside has wood panels inside. Subdued lighting, suitable for romantic liasons, if the seats were a bit more comfortable. Piped music not too loud. Real ale sold, Pride and TEA. Credit cards accepted.

The Hog in the Pound - Mayfair

28 South Molton Street, Mayfair, London W1K 5RF

30-01-2010

Strange shape pub, just off Oxford Street. Real ale on sale, Doombar, Wandle, Adnams & Sharps Winter ale ( I think that's waht it is called). Food served all day. Has seating outside, though I'd wait until the summer unless you are wrapped up well.

Swintons Public House - Bloomsbury

61 Swinton Street, Bloomsbury, London WC1X 9NT

30-01-2010

It is under new management and has had a make over, it was a nice place before but even better now. The lighting is more subdued now. The kitchen is at the back and you can see the chef. There is a new menu but it is not on the board above the bar anymore. Has black lower half of the wall and flower wallpaper upper half and a grey ceiling. Only went in for a Guinness so I can't comment on the food. Still has a good selection of wines.

The Boot Pub - Bloomsbury

116 116 Cromer Street, Kings Cross, London WC1H 8BS

Nice enough place, a genuine local for the locals. Lots of bric-a-brac around the place. Plenty of tables for those who want to eat. The menu is nothing fancy, just good food. No real ale. Has a pool table and a dart board, well it looks like a dart board, either that or its a very thin cupboard. Orange walls and a red ceiling, though not too garish. Friendly staff. not many people in when I visited, just 3 Australians and one of them was working behind the bar, they were going on somewhere else as it was Australia day. There are a pair of skis above the bar.

Jolly Gardeners - Clapham

115 St. Alphonsus Road, Clapham, London SW4 7BS

24-01-2010

A typical local pub, nothing showy. Has a pool table, dart board and fruit machine. Friendly banter between the bar staff and customers. No real ale. They are fans of Celtic, with photos and scarves on the wall. Not much else to say.

Andrew Hunter Thanks for the review. You know, i think this might be the only pub in Clapham i haven't been to! Doesn't sound like a gem, but could to know they have darts!

Hole In The Wall - Waterloo

5 Mepham Street, Waterloo, London SE1 8SQ

24-01-2010

This pub is under the railway arches, you can hear and feel the trains as they pass overhead. It is close to Waterloo station. It has two bars, the back bar is the largest and is more geared up for food service. 7 ales on tap, Doombar, Youngs bitter, Bombadier, GK IPA, Pedigree, Adnams & TEA. Front bar is smaller and more cosy. The walls are adorned with rugby shirts. The entrance to the pub is small, you may even walk past it.

Namco Station - South Bank

Westminster Bridge Road, Lambeth, London SE1 7PB

23-01-2010

Sorry the picture is a bit dark, the bar is 3 floors underground. To get to it you have to negotiate the upper floors filled with, slot machines, video games and other games you usually find in one of those places at popular seaside destinations, so you may spend your drinking money before you reach the bar. Has a lift for wheelchair access to all floors but there isn't a ramp to get into the building in the first place, I have asked the staff and security and they don't know of any either. More details to follow as soon as I find my notes. Sells food all day and does kids menu. No real ale. Has a selection of wines. Areas available for hire.

The Prince Albert - Southwark

76 Colombo Street, Southwark, London SE1 8DP

Nice pub. Real ale on sale, mostly Black Sheep. Available for partys and functions. Comfortable seating. Friendly staff, who seem to know a lot of their regulars by name. Had a party in on the day i visited and the plates of snacks looked very tasty.
