SilverFuture - Kings and Queens and Criminal Queers - Neukölln
Weserstraße 206, 12047 Berlin

This place is not easy. It is absolutely packed at the weekend and there is no room to swing a cat (above the dogs heads)
I got confused at the notice above the bar which read in multiple languages 'self service', so as I proceeded to help myself to a beer from the handily accessible fridge, I was quickly rebuked from the barman. He didn't seem to think the notice was ambiguous. Actually this is a place of notices and behaviour policing. Written on the front door is a warning,' no racism,no sexism, no homophobia, no anti-Semitism, no Nazis'. Laudable indeed, but what should be added is 'no humour'. Be careful what you wear, it could be misconstrued in the myriad of forbiddens. Anything that fits in the list of no-no's will be ejected! Having said that the clientele are an affable bunch and it's worth a visit.
stativision well... also in my opinion it is an absolute no-go to get yourself a beer from the fridge in a bar - even if it is accessible. self service in a bar is not like self service in a supermarket :D

Senti Restaurant - Kreuzberg
Paul-Lincke-Ufer 4, 10999 Berlin

After a walk along the canal, you might find yourself in need of a drink, and senti is in the right place. You can sit outside and for those who drag along their laptop everywhere it has wifi (though I’ve never used it) I found them a little unfriendly, and the atmosphere is somehow lacking. Add the uninspiring prices for food and you may not want to hang out all day.

This place has excellent food, quite cheap too, but the restaurant is noisy with the extraction system making a constant drone. It’s not exactly stylish either with the pub style tables and chairs, but as long as the surroundings don’t upset you, it’s cool. They do cheaper daytime offers, so you can’t complain. Good value for money.
Ä - Neukölln

Ä has been warmly greeted in Neukölln, with it’s fantastic beer, odd collection of furniture and interesting light fittings. It displays all the best finds of a skip scavenger’s hard work and lets you enjoy your surroundings with some fine tunes. They have regular live music evenings and performances For those non smokers, you have to sit in the uncomfy room (no sofas for you!) That feels a little bit like banishment, but hey, drink another of those delicious beers and you won’t care any more.
NUFFY Indische und Internationale Küche - Neukölln

Nuffy’s restaurant is a constantly changing environment. With an urban street style mixed with Indian Hindu images, there is no other comparison I can think of. Just as a place to hang out, he has the perfect chill corner, with sofas, a fish aquarium to calm the frazzled brain and some well chosen cheaper beer. The food is Nuffy’s secret weapon (I say 'secret’ because the restaurant hasn’t been discovered by the masses yet)It all started as an indian restaurant, but I would say the interesting development is the multicultural mix. You can get a fine schnitzel here for an unbeatable price! Nuffy’s own 'fusion’ dishes are cooking art at it’s best. This chef can cook!
Die Dennewitzer Motorradwerkstatt - Berlin
Puderstr. 8, 12435 Berlin
28-05-2009
I had a broken Motorbike, now its fixed. That’s the most important bit. What makes these guys special, is when the repair got complicated and the bike still had problems, I had to take it back to the garage. They fixed the problem and despite many extra hours work, they didn’t charge me. Now that’s good service!
I’ll be staying as a customer of Die Dennewitzer!
Sadhu - Indisches Restaurant - Kreuzberg
Falckensteinstr. 41, 10997 Berlin

Sadhu is a new restaurant and what a lovely find! The food is great. Good value too. Inside is simply but tastfully decorated. The whole package worked for me! Considering they haven’t been going that long, word has got around and they are often full. The staff are very friendly and pleasant, and though we had to wait a bit for our order to be taken, the food arrived quickly. Another bonus is they serve great beer, plus they have an extensive drinks choice (not something I’m used to) Possibly the biggest compliment..I’ll be going back there!
Restaurant Buddha Haus - Schöneberg
Akazienstr. 27, 10823 Berlin
29-05-2008
Ok, this place really is my favourite restaurant! It was my first experience of Nepalise/Tibetan food and frankly it was unforgettable! I used to dream about this food and before I lived in Berlin, I used to plan my trip around a visit to the Buddha Haus. So, enough gushing, the food is extremely tasty, fresh and well presented. The staff are always friendly and helpful. The restaurant itself has a stylish, yet, warming atmousphere with stripped brick walls, tibetan/nepalise (I’m not exactly sure of their origin) masks and artworks and tasteful lighting. With all the positive features the cherry on the cake is the prices are also very reasonable. This place has class!
