The Strawberry Gardens - Fleetwood

Poulton Road, Fleetwood, Lancashire FY7 6TF

10-09-2012

This pub continues to improve and has become a great advantage to the real ale drinkers of the fylde. The pub has a large choice of cask ales sourced from a large area and are mostly in good condition. In the pubs first year they have had a beer festival and have arranged coach outings for its drinkers to other areas where good cask ale pubs can be found. Keep up the good work.

This pub was the Last Orders but has recently been sold and is now in some pub group. The pub has had a small refurb but is nothing special and seems to have lost some of its trade. There are handpumps on the bar but not in use,the person serving said real ale did not sell so that means no more visits by me and my friends.

The Kingfisher - Greenfield

Greenfield, Oldham, Greater Manchester OL3 7AE

I think this pub is hard to beat as it has a good menu cask beers great service and very welcoming staff, and in a great setting next to the canal. We have never been disapointed with the food or service and the cask beer is well kept but barstaff do not seemm to be trained on how to dispense it.

The Sun Hotel - Coniston

Coniston, Cumbria LA21 8HQ

17-10-2010

Good bar of real ales mainly local micros but all at outrageous prices.
We have had a weeks holiday in coniston for the past ten years but this was our last. Standards down prices sky high. The same beer brewed less than five hundred yards away is sixty pence a pint dearer than it is in Broughton about seven miles away and seventy pence dearer than my local and we are asked to surport our local micro breweries.just a rip off. the beer in question is Bluebird Coniston bitter ABV 3.6 BREWED AT THE Black Bull in coniston.

The Windmill - Denton

Windmill Lane, Manchester, Greater Manchester M34 2EY

A large pub in denton now more of a resturant / carveryThe pub gets very busy but the service is top class. The pub has two cask beers on sale at under two pounds a pint both in good condition.Children are welcome and childs meals are cheap and good value.

gardner_julie Visited for the first time in many months on Friday 18th May. Tables were dirty, dirty glasses piled up on the bar, dirty glasses not collected. So much so, my daughter wanted to clear up!! Food was dry, so not as enjoyable as in the past. Disappointing, Windmill, what’s going on?

BPU37 Sorry you had a bad day at the Windmill Julie, i can only report on how we found it which was quite a while ago and the only time i have been there. As an ex licencee of thirty five years it is my opinion that these pubs only get in the state you have discribed though bad management or lack of management. Hope you can find a better pub in your area.
