Went to the Shipwright Arms for lunch today and found it to be a strange mix of good and bad.
Lets start with the good. The pub is a very traditional London boozer, filled with lots of original fittings only the lone fruity looking out of place. It is a very good looking pub. the selection of ales and lagers are quite good too with something for every taste. The all-day Breakfast was very nice with it containing the best fried bread I have ever had, though they could invest in some bigger plats to fit all the contents on better! the service was very quick too
Now for the bad, and when I say bad I mean more of a shame as the pub is very nice. First off it is pricey. I paid £11.65 for the breakfast and a pint witch was a big mark up compared to other pubs of the same quality. Then there was the 50p charge to use a card. lastly the menu was not that great.
Oh and the music, dear god it was bad!

I’m not a big fan of The Slug and Lettuce chain, but this one seams to buck the trend.
Unlike the over ones I been in the sirvace was very good from the freindlly staff and the food really good. The prices are still a bit step for the food.
The selection of beer is quite wide. The decor is quite monden but not tacky. -

Nice small little pub, good selection of beer and wine. The food selection look good though I did not try any.
I went at lunch time and the pub was quite busy. There seams to be not much seating room. The bar Is very nice looking and has no TV or music playing which is good if you want a good chin wag. -

A good little London boozer, nice change from the chains.
The all day Breakfast was spot on.
