Lion & Lamb Yard Shopping Centre - Farnham
Lion & Lamb Yard, Farnham, Surrey GU9 7LL
23-12-2011
Always liked it up here. Kiddies playing on the big wooden lion cradling a lamb. Book shop, wine shop, clothes, outdoorsy shop, cafes and oddly a big Rug shop. And if you can’t cope then there is always Starbucks and a Waitrose. Nice to be away from the traffic but the cobbles are a bitch on pushchairs with small wheels
The Wellington Pub (with rooms) - Farnham
Folly Hill, Farnham, Surrey GU9 0BB
22-12-2011
On a cold and wet December night four manly folk did visit this pub after a night of door to door charity collecting. A fine welcome we were offered, good cheer abounded and the chips were crispy. Beer excellent. Not many people in on a wet Tuesday just before Christmas excesses but it was still toasty and warm and nothing to complain about. Darts and pool and fruities on offer for those lacking in coversation. Good real ale
Lorimers toy shop & stationer - Tolworth
31 Tolworth Broadway, London KT6 7DJ

Tolworth broadway is an eclectic mix but this card, toy, stationary shop is a little gem – especially for that last minute card (many for a £1) or lego/playmobile or craft for the kiddies.
Old Thameside Inn - Southwark

popped in last night for a lovely dark seasonal ale – well kept beer. Friendly, sparkly-eyed staff with seating available downstairs on comfy seats even on a busy, rainy night. Good company, good conversation, good time
Farnham Scouts Chirstmas Trees - Farnham
The Scout Hut, Hale Rec, Farnham, Surrey
10-12-2011
If you want a Christmas tree at a cheaper rpice than the local garden centre but to the same quality come to 2nd Farnham Scouts’ hut behind the Hale Institute on Hale Road on the three weekends before Christmas 10-4. My 6-footer is a beauty!
Le grand place - Brussels
Grote Markt, 1000 Bruxelles

What a gorgeous square. Stylish buildings, lovely (if a tad expensive) pubs and open air restaurants scattered around, tourists everywhere snapping away but so big you can still find a space to do it yourself. Did get a bit grating that the pub we chose charged everyone – including paying custoemrs, for using the toilets!
real ale train - Alton
The Watercress Line, Alton, Hampshire GU34 1

Do you like Real Ale? Do you like Trains? Do you want to do both. try the Watercress Line’s regular Real Ale Train. It is a winner!
Frankfurt Airport (FRA) - Flughafen
60547 Frankfurt am Main
09-12-2011
It is an airport. Planes go back and forth and you are forced by terrorists to sit in them for hours at a time before your plane is called. They are improving this one – a big duty free, nicer shops, comfier seats but ultimately the only way to make it bmore bearable is to drop the price of th beer to help numb the mind from the boredom of travelling.
Stena Line - Holyhead
Stena House Station Approach, Holyhead Harbour, Holyhead, Wales LL65 1DQ
09-12-2011
Ferry ports are dull. Have to be. They are the places you go before the fun starts, before the holiday kicks off and you watch home recede into the mist and Ireland appear ahead. However Stena has tried to make it more interesting with games for kids, a cafe, newspapers, and some history exhibits. We will return but only for coffee and to see what an extra year or two of Stena’s history has added to the wall.
In conclusion – they are trying to make the experience better but it is pretty much a lost cause.

Extremely interesting tour of the histor of the town jail including interactive talks from the jailor and the matron. Unfortunately the kids dragged us away before we could fully explore the exhibits in each of the cells or the recreation of the transportation ship upstairs. If we had more time and kids over the age of 6 this would have been a great visit. We will try again in the future
