First Class!
A little gem of a place tucked away in the heart of the Yorkshire Wolds! The Wolds Inn is some of the best dining you will find for miles around.
Situated in the village of Huggate, approximately 30 minutes from York, it is true to say it is in the back of beyond, but anyone venturing this far will not be disappointed!
The food here is excellent, absolutely first class! On our first visit I opted for the “Wolds Topper” (mixed grill) and my partner went for the Roast Pork. The mixed grill was the finest I have ever seen or tasted (and I’ve eaten plenty of mixed grills) with succulent steak, lamb, pork, gammon, sausage black pudding and fantastic home cut chips. But this was nothing compared to the Roast Pork which was, honestly large enough to feed a family! The joint was a similar size to what we would buy from Tesco for a family Sunday roast (in fact we took the leftovers home and it did sanwiches for us the next day)! It was beautiful to taste and covered with delicious pork crackling!
The puddings are also to die for! Eton Mess was fabulous!
The prices are little higher than other places in the area but it is more than worth it.
There are also a good selection of ales and wines available too.
Accommodation is available should you wish to make a night of it.
