Red Stables Market - Dublin
Mount Prospect Ave, Dublin
23-02-2009
(updated on 02-03-2009)
Red Stables Market is situated in St. Anne’s Park. It’s a small market (about 6 stalls) with fine produce but they do not come cheap. Although not a market that makes it easy to stock up on goods, Red Stables Market does make for a nice outting and a pleasant stroll, especially when a walk through St. Anne’s Park is included. Beautiful Park and a lovely market.
Claddagh Records - Dublin

I came across this store as I was filling in time before meeting someone. It is full to burtsting with Irish traditional and folk music. The atmosphere of the store is very comfortable and you can become quite absorbed in looking around at the plenty of choice and listening to the quality tracks being played overhead. Prices seemed average for CDs and there were a couple bargains about.
Ruen Thai - Dublin
2A Main Street, Raheny Village, Dublin

Ruen Thai is the best take out Thai in the area. The meals are filling and scrumptious. Delivery charges are a little steep but every once in a while it’s worth it. Deliveries are quick and have always been correct. Have never actually been to the store itself but the staff taking orders over the phone are polite and efficient and the delivery people have always been pleasant. A yummy take out.
Lotus Garden - Dublin
16 Fairview, Dublin

(updated on 02-03-2009)
Lotus Garden has a wide range of Chinese meals ranging from prawns, beef, chicken, duck, Kung Po, Szechuan, Satay, Chop Suey, Sweet and Sour, Curry, Foo Young and Chow Mein and there are vegetarian options also. It’s in a handy location and has very reasonable prices which make Lotus Garden a good option for dinner. I have only had take away from here but when picking it up those having dinner inside always seem to be enjoying themselves and the staff are constantly rushing about meeting customers’ needs. We may go for a sit down meal next time…
Alilang - Dublin

If you are a fan of generalised Asian food than this restaurant has the menu for you. Everything on its menu is delicious and filling. The atmosphere is lovely, upbeat and inviting though this is not reflected in its decorating. Try ordering a BBQ meat meal as it is entertaining having it cooked at your table!
The Cobblestone - Dublin
77 Nth King Street, Dublin
23-02-2009
(updated on 02-03-2009)
Cobblestone Bar is a great little bar away from the city centre (so cheaper prices and often not so busy), over in Smithfield. It is cosy and has a real hospitable feel to it making it easy to spend many hours here. There is often live music too, offering another aspect to the cosy bar and another point of interest and conversation.
Stags Head - Dublin
1 Dame Court, Dublin

(updated on 02-03-2009)
The Stags Head is such a beautiful pub. It’s your stereotypical Irish pub and is a real treat for visitors because of its beauty and 'Irishness’. Apparently it was featured in a series of post stamps, so that’s saying something. The atmosphere is warm and cosy making it a lovely place to have a nice cold pint and to really enjoy it!
Kate's Cottage - Dublin
Amiens street, Dublin
21-02-2009
(updated on 02-03-2009)
Kate’s Cottage is as cute inside as it is out. The exterior looks like a cottage and the inside has the feel of one. The staff are friendly and from what I saw the food served looks delicious (I was only having a drink). Kate’s Cottage is ideally situated to have a drink while waiting for trains or buses that leave from across the road. A nice place to stop and close by to many means of transport.
Balzac - Dublin

Dress up for a meal at this lovely restaurant! The dining area is sophisticated and romantic creating that feeling of having stepped back in time. The food was delicious and beautifully presented, though I would have preferred much more of it than was served! It’s fancy and expensive but well worth it for a special occasion!
Tesco - Dublin
Clare Hall, Dublin
18-02-2009
(updated on 02-03-2009)
Tesco Clare Hall is possibly the biggest Tesco I have ever seen. It was a dream come true when setting up our house here as this Tescos has everything you need to fully furnish a place- jugs, cutlery, cooking instruments and towels etc. As it is a larger Tescos, it usually has many discounted items specific to the store- so picking up cheap meats and other freezable products is an option.
